It was a sunny afternoon in the town of San Dimas. Everyone was heading home after a long day from work/school to enjoy a most excellent weekend. Friends were meeting up at malls, dates went out to enjoy their Friday, family are heading for road trips to enjoy the weekend, and a teen boy in a white Van Halen shirt with a black vest on top, black shorts with gray sweats rolled up underneath the shorts, two stickers were shown on the side of the short (one said 'save the humans' with a whale picture on it and the other sticker was a smiley face), a red orange sweater was wrapped around his waist, long grey socks and black Converse with purple laces was heading back home from detention after school. It was a most heinous detention but his time was well spent. He manage to study the ingredients for a new drink. 2 years ago, he went to a family reunion at his uncle's house in Downtown L.A. While his family were chatting and a bit of partying, he went up to the bar to grab 2 beers for his dad since, after all, he is an alcoholic and when it comes to party/reunions, he can get a bit too overboard. Luckily, the bartender wasn't behind the bar. He went around it and grab the beers but was caught by his Uncle Ben. Luckily, he was almost drunk. "Hey Ted," said Uncle Ben, "Can you make me a margarita for your Aunt Rosy? Make it shaken, not stir." Ted became confused at his uncle, wondering why he didn't pull him out of the bar but decided to go for it. Luckily, he did a report on alcohols and drinks/cocktails. He thought he would get a 'D' on his report but ended up with a 'B' for including how many ounces of alcohol were in the drinks. He scooped ice with an ice scooper, pours it on the glass cup and starts grabbing bottle of alcohol and pour it on the cup but made sure it was the right amount or else the drink would be either too strong or too bitter. He grabs a cocktail shaker and puts it on top of the glass cup, made sure it was sealed with the glass cup. He grabs the end of both cups and starts to shake over his shoulder, facing the glass cup behind his shoulder. He grabs a margarita cup, pulls out the glass cup, grabs a strainer and began to pour the drink over the cup strainer and into the margarita glass. Uncle Ben grabbed the cup and hands it Aunt Rosy. Aunt Rosy took a sip and noticed the drink was correctly balanced. She noticed Ted behind the bar with shock over her eyes. She walks up to him and asks, "Have you ever thought about being a bartender?" Ted was even more confused than before but shook his head. His cousin, Angela, who is 18, said, "You should. Uncle Ben can let you work at the Roxbury." That's when Ted's eyes turned widen. He has heard about the Roxbury before while doing research about alcohol and drinks. Angela told Ted that Uncle Ben knows his friend name Nancy who owns the biggest spot of Los Angeles (and soon became a movie call A Night at The Roxbury). Just 2 miles away from his house lay a most excellent and famous bar/club call "Roxbury." The Roxbury club was originally located in Beverly Hills, California and it was the hit spot for any party-goers and those who just want to have fun. Due to the building being old and was about to collapsed, the Roxbury moved to San Dimas and from then on, became the biggest hit all across Los Angeles and Southern California. The teen boy walks up to his house and was greeted by a loud yell, "TED THEODORE LOGAN!!!!!!" Ted jumped and turned to see his father was furious with his arms crossed. Ted gulped nervously and said, "h-h-hey dad." His father sighed and asked, "your school called that you were in detention. Care to explain why?" "Uh..." Ted tried to find an explanation about why he is in Detention as his father said, "you know what? Forget it. Just...go get ready for work. I'll be taking you." Ted grabs his backpack and walks towards his room. Once he enters his room, he closed the door behind him and let out a huge sigh. "Bogus," Ted said, "that was a close one." He drops his backpack on the side of his bed and walks towards the closet. He opens the door and grabs his work clothes. Surprisingly, he is the youngest teen to work as a bartender in the hottest club of San Dimas. He took off all of his clothes and changed. He puts on his collared plain black short sleeve shirt, slips on his blue jeans, and puts on his extra pair of black Converse. This time, his shoelaces were white. As he finished tying his shoes, he went up to the mirror and grabs his black bowtie. He wraps it around his neck since he doesn't know how to put on a bowtie and it was a struggle for him. He grabs his hair brush and a dryer to fluff up his brown hair and his bangs. He looks at himself and shook his head to the right to clear his bangs from covering his right eye. He smiled at his reflection and grabs his cologne. He sprayed in certain areas around his body, including his arm pits, and placed it back on his shelf next to his photos of him and his family. He looked at a photo of him and his mom, feeling a bit depressed now that she's gone. Ever since the divorce of his parents, things turned out heinous. His dad had been drinking more than before and had been way serious like Keanu Reeves and Liam Neeson combined (whoa). He tried to remember the most excellent times when it was all happy times and an actual family, but now, it's not so happy. He heard a door opening to see it was his father. "Hey. You ready?" he asked. Ted nods his head and puts the photo back on the shelf. He passed his father out of the room and outside. Mr. Logan grabs his long coat with his badge in his pocket and head outside. Both went into the car as Mr. Logan placed the keys in the ignition, turns it on and begins to drive. Ted looks at the radio to see it was 4:39 pm. He looks out to see the sun was about to set, giving the sky a bit of a bright orange glow. Mr. Logan looks at Ted and back on the road as he said, "look. I'm sorry that I yelled at you and giving you a hard time but it's time to face the fact that you are not a little kid anymore. I'm glad you have a job and you've been paying attention at school but you're still clumsy Ted. At least I'm not sending you to Oates Military Academy but don't think I'm letting you off the hook. If you keep acting like this, I'm sending you there." Ted heard everything but didn't look at his dad. He still looked at the outside of the car window, passing houses and people walking by. The car stopped in front of a huge building that read 'Roxbury' on it. Ted steps out of the car as his dad lowered the window and said, "I won't pick you up today. I'm staying a bit late but you know where the extra key is right?" Ted nods his head and starts heading inside the club. Once inside, he looks around the club. A huge two floor building with 4 huge bars and a huge stage at the end of the building for bands and DJs to perform. Standing in the middle are people cleaning the dancefloor as he passed by them to head to the backroom. Ted said hi to the people who were working as they respond back with a smile. Once he stepped in, he saw a girl like his age with brown hair, black short sleeve shirt with a black vest and ripped blue jeans was getting prepare as she was putting on her blue Converse. The girl looked up and said, "Hey Ted. You came just in time. You could've seen me in my underwear." Ted chuckled and opened his locker. "You had your jeans backwards again, Marilyn?" Marilyn scoffed and answered, "Yep. But at least no one was here so I got lucky. Anyways, did you practice the new drink?" "The Rave?" asked Ted, "I got it. I practiced while I was in detention." He closed his locker and Marilyn said with confusion, "wait. Why were you in detention? You didn't bring alcohol did you?" Ted shook his head and answered, "fight." Marilyn winced and said, "but you don't have punch marks or anything." Ted lift up his shirt to see bruises on the sides and marks on his stomach, which doesn't include the faint stomach scar he has. He pulls down his shirt and Marilyn said, "That's heavy dude." "I know," said Ted as they both went out of the back room and headed to the bar. Ted walked behind the bar and Marilyn sat in front of the bar. "Alright Ted. You ready dude?" He nod his head with a smirk and began to make the new drink call 'Rave.' After 20 seconds of making the drink, he looks at the filled glass of orange, blue, green, and yellow under the black lighting to give it a glow. The sounds of heels clicking on the floor were heading towards Marilyn and Ted as a woman in her mid-20s looks at the drink, grabs a straw, dips it in the cup and tastes it. She looks at Ted and smiled, "I guess you have been studying Ted. Excellent job." Ted felt proud and said, "thanks Nancy." Nancy walks towards the stage to see everything was in order before opening. "Wow Ted. You did it dude," said Marilyn with a smile. Ted smiled and said, "thanks." He then realized about the loose bowtie around his neck. "Oh crud," he said and looks at Marilyn for help. Marilyn shook her head with a sigh and helps Ted with the bowtie under the collar. "There you go," said Marilyn. Ted smiled and both decided to practice their routines before opening in 30 minutes.
