Saturday, London
[Seph's point of view]
Name: September "Seph" Harrison
age: fifteen
gender: female
occupation: part time worker on a diner, and a part time worker on a music store.
I said goodbye's to my siblings, Shailene and Sean, before I walked out of our flat. Appartment, rather. Truth to be told, we used to be rich and have our own house and cars. But when my mom and dad passed away all their fortune are left for us but our evil lawyers took it away from us. So we are here. We are left with nothing so my older brother and I have to stop schooling and work for our little sister's studies. Today I have no work or part time job as others would say so I decided to go to a public library where I spent most of my day offs. The library wasn't that far from our place and it would only takes a minute of walk and I don't need to ride a buss or a cab.
Soon enough I spotted the old building across the street. I waited for the right time to pass by and walked towards it. The scent of books engulfed me when I entered the large building. It's been awhile since I've been here and it was again something new to me.
Coraline, the librarian, spotted me walking towards her. "Oh Seph! long time no see!" She squealed. "calm down, Cora. Yeah, It's been awhile. I've missed you" I agreed. She smiled and handed me the log book of the library. "So. What's up?" She asked. "Nothing. Still the same old Seph" I replied. She nodded and like usuall, I signed my name on the log book with a happy smile. "Have a good day, Seph" She said before I walked away. "same to you too" I turned and waved.
I went towards the row of books at the new arival section. I am fond of reading newly displayed books wether it was writen by a famous author or not. Then I spotted a famous book titled "Perks of being a wallflower". I pulled it out and checked the description on the back of the book and placed it back afterwards. Wallflower stories are not me cup of tea... then not long after I saw another book titled "divergent" when I checked it, it was just like Hunger Games and like the first one, it wasn't me type. I am starting get disappointed be cause I can't find a good book. I decided to move on to the next shelf which is the fiction section. There I found a nice book... "Percy Jackson and the olympians: The last olympian"
Before I can grasped the book, someone else grabbed it and walked away. "Eh" I spoke out. A tall figure (want me to describe him? ok so he is tall man with brown locks and he is wearing ray ban) turned to me holding the book in his hand and said "sorry, I got this first. You can read this after me." He gave me a small smile and walked away. My reflex worked quickly. I stopped him by grabbing his arm. "Wait, maybe you can read other books. And besides I think you're too old to read that book," I said. "books don't choose their readers. Readers choose what books they like to read" He snapped and snatched his arm away. "and who says I am too old for this book" He added. I scrunched my nose and stomp away. Alright then fine. Books doesn't choose their readers... huff...
Instead of arguing with him I decided to ask Cora for another copy of that book but she says it wasn't available at the moment. I sighed and scanned another three or five shelves of books looking for a good book.
after like million years of looking a good book I gave up and settle with a small pocket book about how to control your temper maybe I need that right now.I mean, I really need that now. I searched for a vacant seat but I found none. Someone stood up from their sit and I guess I found a spot. I quickly sat down at the chair and before I could comprehend where I was sitting, I saw the same guy earlier with the ray ban smirking at me. Fuck. He was sitting across me. "What a small world" I mumbled. He laughed. I opened the book in the random page and slam it against me face and groaned. (It was like face palming but instead palm it is a book. so face booking? hehe lol. nevermind).
He chuckled...
"nice book" he commented. Lord, I am so sorry. I can't take this anymore. Please forgive me. (after that silent prayer) I kicked the guy on his knee under the table. He groaned and everyone turn heads to him and shushed. He have no choice but to groan silently.
"you'll pay for it" He whispered with a slight pinch of pain in his voice. I can't tell whether his acting or not be cause of his tinted ray ban shades are blocking his eyes. Then it hits me.
Is he a criminal or someone who run away from jail to wear a ray ban inside of a library and read.Be cause it was really weird.... beyond weird actually. It was rather suspicious.
He caught me starring at him. I can feel he was looking at me too and it was longer than usual then I cleared my throat. He snapped back to earth, then. "Uh, I, uhm, uh, sorry, so I- uh, I, uh" He stammered.
"uhm, er, uhm, er I get it. Yeah I get it" I mimicked.
-"ugh nevermind. I got to go" He then stood up and walked away. But he left the book, too obvious that I know he left it intentionally. Before I can thank him he was gone like bubble.
I realized, if he was a criminal then maybe not all criminals are bad all the times.
