I looked up and there were crimson posters everywhere. Heart-shaped cut outs hung up along the hallway where I was walking. Here it goes again, the month of love. Every year, all students in this campus are busy for their different agendas for the upcoming day. The council sets up a marriage booth, some old couples find a place to dine in while most of the singles were hunting for a date just like me but I only wanted one. I stared down to the three fresh roses on my hands and shakily hid it behind.

Nervous. Badly, that's what I'm feeling right now. I am nervous for what she would answer to my question. I spotted the girl I was looking for at the end of the hallway, there she is on the bench sitting confidently, chatting with her friends looking gorgeous in floral tank and white jumper.

She turned to my direction as her mahogany brown hair flows naturally to the blow of the wind and her eyes were thousands of ruby gems sparkling when shine by the bright sunlight. Cold and sweaty, I am now walking closer towards her. I gulped trying to recover my fearlessness. I need to act firm if I want to work this out successfully. I suddenly remember the day we first met a few months ago.

I was about to turn the next page when I automatically sneezed at the dusty material I was holding. Really. Every time I would read an old book, the dust kept on visiting my nostrils (even they weren't invited though).

"Excuse me there; do you know where Algebra book located?" A soft voice of a girl caught my attention.

Her face is new so I guess she's a transferee. But she's just beautiful, damn. I pointed to my left as my eyes never leaving hers. I can't stop looking now. Help.

"Okay. Thanks!" she smiled following by a very cute dimple. I watched as her hair swayed from left to right as she walked away.

Then the rest is history. The universe always made our paths cross that's why we became friends instantly. Her name's Ariana Grande. We had the same interests; playing board games, listening to pop music and even watching horror series -we really love American Horror Stories! One Time, she dropped by to my flat, brought some popcorn and soda just to watch our favorite show. When I'm with her, it was the best part of my days but one thing just bothered me. Every time we had a nice conversation, she's busy typing on her phone like she wasn't paying her full attention to me though.

Now is not the time to think that, my thoughts reminded me. I brought back to my senses when I saw her smile. Her smile that motivated me to do what I need to. Staring into her eyes, I kneeled in front of her and the students who witnessed shouted and cheered. My cheeks were heating up while my trembling hands offering the red roses to her.

"Can you be my valentine?"

The small crowd surrounding us gasped in unison including her. A hitch of anxiousness filled my feelings as I waited for her answer.

But just as I thought this would turn out to a successful proposal, a man came and held her hips with his hand. He had a muscular figure and eyes where fury while mumbling something to her I can't decipher. She looked at me with apologetic eyes, slowly she walked away with the boy. And that's when I realized she had her own valentine already. How could I not notice it soon?

I left and threw the red crap I was holding at the garbage and swore I would never do such a sweet thing unless I already found the one that's for me. I came home with heavy feelings but it changed sooner when I was greeted by Marla at the door.

I smiled chuckling to myself as she was excited to see me. I wasn't left out, I already had a date and she was just waiting for me to come home. So I spend this special day by the sea shore running and playing with my Siberian husky dog.
