You Can't Spell 'Light' Without 'L'

'W-what did I do....' Light stared in horror at L's lifeless body in his arms. What had he done? Killing the one person he actually loves.... without ever realizing it. He loved L...but now he was gone...forever...

Tears continued to stream down Light's eyes. 'Am I really a monster... Was it really worth it...?' The thoughts continued to ponder in his head, giving him a headache. He couldn't take it anymore... He let go of the once-living candy-loving raven and ran. To where?

Anywhere.

He wanted to get as far away as he could. He wished to erase the vivid memory of L. The scene he died, and the last look of emotion in L's eyes. The only emotion that was shown was the one he wished to never see on the boys face when he looked at him.

Fear.

It was fear. Light wanted to run away from that. From everything. All of his problems. Misa, his father, Ryuk...

EVERYTHING!

Especially the Death Note. Its what brought him in this situation in the first place. If only he never picked it up. If only that he didn't write in the notebook. All Light wanted was a second chance. A chance to redo every mistake he made. Light just wanted a chance to make L see him in a different way....

~(Light's POV)~

"Yaga-.....mi.......Lig-....Yagam-....ight..............LIGHT YAGAMI!!!" "AHH! WHAT?!?!," I screamed as I jolted up. 'Oh....it was just a dream...,' I thought.

I looked upward to see none other then the one and only L, sitting in his known position, looking down at me from his chair. As soon as I noticed how close his face was from my face, I flinched back for a second, quickly catching myself while my cheeks turned a little red, but ignored it, and acted like my 'innocent' self. "R-ryuzaki!!," I stuttered. "Hm..." L observed my face, noticing a little bit of my uneasiness and the light tint of blush on my cheeks. "...Light....I have a question..." L spoke as he leaned back into his chair.

My heart beat went a little faster. Usually when L has a question, it means he wants to figure something out, and by the look on his face, he has an idea about something of me that has nothing to do with the Kira case.

I nodded my head to show he could continue. A sigh escaped his delate lips as he put his thumb to his mouth, and he spoke. "I have come up to the conclusion that you like someone. To be exact, there is a 85.96% of me being right. I also noticed that you have been more distracted lately, which isn't like you. Not only that, but, while you were sleeping, it almost looked as if you were crying, which means you were dreaming of something bad happening to something you deeply care about. I believe that this is all linked to the conclusion that you like someone. Now the question is-" He paused as he leaned on the end of the chair and got closer to my face. " Who do you like?"

I began to sweat because of how nervous I was. 'He's suspicious... or he already knows and he's messing with me... What do I do... what do I do...?!?!' "I-I.....," I tried to speak. but all that came out were stutters. "Now my suspicions have grown to exactly 100%!" My mouth opened but nothing came out. I looked down to the ground while clenching my teeth in anger, frustration, and fear. I was mad because I wouldn't tell my feelings, I was frustrated because I knew I cant tell him because I'm scared, and I'm in fear because I'm afraid that...what if he doesn't like me... My eyes began to tear up a little but I quickly wiped them. I've had enough of waiting and I've decided to tell him... before my dream-....before it becomes reality...

I raised my head and had a look of determination on my face, hiding the fact that I was terrified and unsure. 'Here I go,' I thought.

"What if it was...you?"

"Really?!?!"

"Well, of course! Because, after all..."
