The dream that changed my life

I sat on the couch, watching the remaining 5 minutes of the last episode from my favourite show. 11:30 pm...I should go to bed. Tired as I was I dragged myself into the darkness of the room. If I knew what was to come I wouldn't have slept. The warm blankets where soft and I looked at the stars that wandered above me. The horizont was pitch black and I felt the same emptiness like every night before. It feels like something is missing...A part of myself is missing. The average girls in my age would think about their crush but I sure weren't normal. No... I had a special gift that never affected me this much before. I had the ability to see the future. It seemed to have been passed down in our family because I wasn't the only one. My cousins experienced the same strange moments. Once I shocked my mother because I could describe every detail of the flower bouquet she bought for my birthday. Also I could tell my sister every morning which grades she would receive. I thought it was okay because my ability hadn't affected my life too much.....But oh was I wrong...

I knew that there was darkness for a short time. I must be sleeping. Wait where am I? The longer I remained in the dream the more I could notice what was going on there. I heard footsteps, probably my own, and felt something where my right hand was. Another person next to me held it while gently rubbing my knuckles. Every once in a while the other hand would tap on them too. It felt relaxing. I definitely like this...it's calming me down. I looked around and saw a few unshaped dots that had human like forms but they looked like they were going to vanish anytime. I guess my nerves only focused on the person next too me. It's like I don't care for anything else. And it was true. Everything I cared for was the person next to me. I felt the hand that held mine, heard the breaths he was taking in every few seconds, smelt the odor that he used. It was a fresh mint kind of smell but not too aggressive. It was as soft as his voice that spoke to me. I couldn't point out what he said. We stopped and he turned around to face me. I looked up into the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. It was like watching the night sky and due to the sparkles in his eyes it was like watching the stars at a pitch black midnight. I can literally see the universe in his eyes. My universe. Where everything was alright and no one could hurt me. Except for the person who I gave the power to destroy me. But as long as this universe isn't falling apart...I won't fall.
