Harper felt as if every molecule in her body relaxed when she walked into her theatre class. one of the classes she had with Evelyn, she looked forwards to it everyday. she felt at ease when she sat behind stage, watching the actors do the unimaginable in character, while she got to control the very feeling of the play, with the lighting, curtain length, and the speed scenes changed. she secretly aspired to be and actress when she grew up, but she knew that her parents wouldn't approve, she needed to do something productive with her life, like violin, or law school.
when she got to the back section f the main room, she took a sharp left, passing the colorful room full of miscellaneous props and strange odds and ends, that could be used for who knows what. another left and she passed the play writers room, where the seniors could be heard yelling at each other over the fate of their next character. another left would be to the music room, but Harper took a right down the narrow, cream-coloured hallway into the green room. she was greeted with several cheery voices, and a fist bump from assistant stage manager, Theodore.
after putting her things down, Harper grabbed a bean bag, and pulled it up to the already crowded coffee table. Harper loved her stage crew, they were probably her favourite people, besides Evelyn, but you know, people who new who she was. there was Lacey, with mousy brown hair, blue rectangular glasses, and green jacket, Theodore, who was trans and known for being the computer specialist of the group, Amy, who had bright red hair (this week) and freckles splattering her face, with blue contacts in, and could be found sucking any guy's face off in the hallway every other day. And lastly, there was Abi (sometimes Abe) they were Evelyn's best friend, and knew Harper liked her.
Abi knew, because Harper told her. The only problem, Abi wouldn't help Harper in anyway, shape or form. So she had no clue as to whether she could actually have a chance with the freshman or not. And it was especially difficult, because whenever the stage crew collaborated with the actors, Abi stared between them with an awful smirk, and Harper knew that it was absolutely useless trying to win the heart of Evelyn.
