The Past

In the year of 2016 no one knew what hit them when a new virus struck. At first everyone was fine that is until the symptoms started but before I get all into that let me tell you what happened. February 14 of 2016 a virus by the name of the red lung disease struck the world and destroyed it. Red Lung is an airborne virus, spread through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes, spreading mucus-coated virus molecules. The slow progress of the early stages of the virus and the natural nature of the initial symptoms allowed Red Lung to spread through the population before public health officials could order police to slow to stopping all travel or quarantine suspected humans. By the time world governments realized a problem existed, Red Lung was already rampant and spreading throughout all of the working nations of the industry. Leading to public health and government systems being shutdown every branch of either the public health or government system had crumpled leaving nothing left. The Red Lung mortality rates began to be measured at greater than 70%, on par with the worst outbreaks of the Bubonic Plague.

The rare cases of recovery conferred immunity on the survivors. This immunity was found to be passed down through genetic bloodlines. Unfortunately, the death rate far exceeded the birth rate, leading to a rapidly declining population and the world crumpling into destroyed pieaces. To make matters worse another species decided to reveal themselves, we know them as the fairytale creatures; the vampires. These bloodsucking monsters didn't want to help or save us they wanted to horde us together so they could kill us themselves. These monsters weren't friendly as they took over what was left of the world and the human population dominating everything and turning it into "vampire cities". These monsters destroyed everything that was still standing. Making humans have to fight for their survival leading me to learning something about them that we had wrong when we made those twilight movies. Those things sure as hell don't sparkle.

The symptoms of the virus took us all by surprise. Destroying things faster than many of us thought when it first began. Red Lung begins with the onset of flu-like symptoms including fever, aching, nausea, coughing, and fatigue. These symptoms persist for several days and then begin to escalate. Within one week of exposure, necrosis sets into the lung tissue, causing open sores. This, in turn, results in bleeding into the lungs, causing difficulty breathing, and the bloody coughing that led to the name "red lung." Once open sores in the lungs begin, they proceed rapidly, ultimately resulting in death, generally within forty-eight hours. Death is most often in a case of the host drowning on their own blood from fluid accumulation in the lungs causing instant death.

I only know of these things from firsthand account and one thing the doctors forget to mention is anyone who gets this virus experiences random burst of rage. Then they go crazy flinging themselves at things and trying to claw their eyes out. Oh and don't let me forget the part where they just randomly attack themselves and others. So as soon as you contract this disease do us all a favor and just kill yourself. I know what I'm saying is harsh but it's one less Red L crazy we have to defend ourselves against.
