A night like any other, but the woman could sense that the bloody feast would be served soon. Sitting on the parapet of the tallest building in her squad, she contemplated the black sky. Her hair was as dark as the night, a poet would say, but her heart could be even darker. She bristled up in excitement over the impending battle. The tightness hit the chest when she noticed the presence behind her. How could someone be able to possess such spiritual energy? The worst thing about it was knowing that he was still struggling to suppress such strength. She respected him, feared him, but maybe not enough. Her biggest fear was to live without knowing a warrior that would give her the pleasure of a terrible battle. A fight as terrible and bloody as she could be. Yamamoto wasn't that person. He was worse. So, until that day came, she could not lose a fight. Yet she could still have fun, depending on the killing.

"I feel embarrassed with such honor" she said with a slight smile.

"Spare me the mockery" he interrupted rudely. "I don't need your silly words of provocation. Prove that your sword is as sharp as your tongue. Come with me."

"Do I really need to prove it?" she said, the smile gave way to a closed frown. "I thought Kenpachi meant something."

"I know you don't care about your title that much. Killing is the only thing you love."

Suddenly, the woman began to laugh.

"You treat me as I was a beast thirsty for blood" she was still laughting.

"Am I wrong?"

"Not really" she answered. "I like the way you see me. I don't speak of violence by itself, but only those who know the fever a warrior feels in the middle of a battle can be called true soldier. Who have never experienced such pleasure will never be able to judge me."

"Believe me, Unohana" the commander's spiritual pressure was like an invisible giant, ready to crush the world with his hands. "I understand your words. Enough with the talking. It's time to release this red desire in you. You don't need to thank me."

"You're becoming a grumpy old man, did you know that?"

The way she referred to him could be considered an outrage punishable by death. Yamamoto, however, respected her. He would not punish her for the way she was.

"Do not make me repeat myself. Come with me, do your job and kill every single enemy you see in your way".
