A/N: So sorcerervevo raised a point about X readers being aimed at girls, so I thought that I'd try to write something gender neutral. It's harder than I thought but I think it turned out alright; constructive criticism is appreciated :)

Y/N's POV
Tonight was date night and I was excited. I thought that I would plan tonight as a treat because Simon was running himself to the ground making videos for his subscribers. He won't stop until they are perfect.

At 6 o'clock I decided to get ready. I dressed smart casual like I had told Simon and fixed my dishevelled hair. After managing to tame my mane, I jogged downstairs slipped my converse on and collected my money and keys from the island in the centre of the kitchen.

"Simon! Are you ready babe? Our reservations are at seven!" I called as he came through the door. I couldn't help but stare, looking him up and down. I was breath taken. He was wearing a burgundy SDMN t-shirt and black jeans a change from his usual joggers.

"Damn." I laughed looking up at him.

"You don't look too bad yourself." He winked. I bit my lip subconsciously.

"Come on, let's go!" We got in my car and Simon put the radio on. Surprisingly the songs playing were actually decent. We spent the entire drive lip-syncing, singing and dancing along to the music.

I pulled up in the car park and turned off the engine after waiting for the song to finish. I quickly darted to the other side of my car.

"This way good sir." I said in an overly British accent, opening the door for Simon and linking my arm with his. We entered the restaurant still linked.

"We have reservations under Y/N." I said to the waitress who led us to a table in the corner of the restaurant and took our drink order. Simon was looking around, admiring the paper lanterns that were hung from the ceiling and the napkins on the tables that were made into little origami shapes.

"I thought I couldn't go wrong with a Chinese buffet."

"You were right. You know what the bonus of a buffet is right?" A mischievous grin spreading across his cute face. "Dessert as a starter!"

"Woo!"

We ran to the dessert section, huge smiles on our faces. We looked around eagerly deciding what we were going to devour first. I chose one of the cute little jellies with whipped cream and fruit on top whilst Simon headed straight to the chocolate fountain, coating strawberries and marshmallows in melted chocolate.

We sat back down laughing because I had walked face first into the wall as I rounded the corner to get back to our table. Simon placed a strawberry in his mouth.

"This.." He said pointing at his plate, "is soo good. Try some." I opened my mouth and he popped a marshmallow in my mouth. I nodded in agreement. It tasted like heaven. I had almost finished my jelly when I got some cream on my finger.

"Simon, come here. I wanna tell you something." He leaned closer. "You're adorable." I said gently tapping him on the nose deliberately wiping the cream on him in the process. "Especially with whipped cream on your nose." I giggled in hysterics.

"Y/N!" He exclaimed in shock. Before he could get his revenge and a food fight began I scooted away to get my main course.

*time skip to after dinner*

We were in the car, I was driving and Simon had fallen asleep. I pulled into a parking space and looked at him; he looked so peaceful when he was sleeping. I kissed his cheek and gently shook him.

"Babe, wake up. We're here." He yawned, rubbing his eyes and faced me.

"I had a great night Y/N, thank you."

"Don't thank me, it's not over yet." He looked out of the window.

"No way! We're at the beach!" He said; face lighting up and his eyes sparkling. I nodded getting lost in his eyes for a moment. "Wait? How long was I asleep?" He questioned looking puzzled.

"Not that long." I smiled.

We walked along the beach hand in hand, shoes in the other. The waves crashed on the shore at a constant rate, creating a calming rhythm and the clear moonlit sky set the perfect atmosphere for a late night walk. Simon stopped and turned towards me.

"I don't think I've told you this today but you're amazing and I don't think I'll ever meet anyone like you." He draped his arm around my shoulders and I rested my head on his chest. "I couldn't have asked to go out with anyone better." He planted a kiss on the top of my head. "You're perfect. Thank you for tonight."

I looked up at him smiling and wrapped my arms around him, giving him a big bear hug.

"You're welcome."
