The next day the same routine: Roxas pounces on Sora at the start of the day, kiss, kiss, then they go off to their separate classes throughout the morning. They go to recess and talk about how Ven and Van seem to be still rather mad then go off to their math period which they spend flirting exceedingly; gaining eye-rolls from their friends. Lunch is spend hiding in the storage closest making out till the bell rang; then comes their last period, Art.
“Welcome back class; sorry for not making an appearance yesterday. I had an…appointment,” half chuckled, half snarled the teacher, “Now, I’m sure the substitute told you all about the class so we can skip introductions and actually get some work done.”
A chorus of groans echoed the room as the teacher slightly chuckled, “Now sweet children…SILENCE! You will do as I say or you will fail my class!”
“Some second day, huh?” whispered Axel to Roxas who chuckled a bit too loudly.
“Mr. Strife, what is so funny? I don’t believe I told a joke…now kindly…be quiet or I’ll have you suspended!” she growled, grabbing her wooden pointed and slamming it down, sending a thunder through the class.
Roxas quickly looked down ashamedly, “Sorry Ms. Zira.”
“Not good enough Mr. Strife.” She finally commented, observing Sora stroke his hand reassuringly, “Now that no one else has anything to say…let me give you all your first assignment. Now you may not know Principal Maleficent is an art tycoon. Her famous sculpture…the heartless…is up at Radiant Garden; the museum of refined arts and culture! Now why am I telling you this? Because your final presentation for this term will take place there with her watching!”
Everyone began murmuring, some excited at the prospect but most nervous. “SILENCE! I did give you permission to talk. Now, onto the actual project…you will create a sculpture, a mural and poster to advertise it. Your subject can be anything…but your whole group must agree.”
Roxas instinctively grabbed Sora arm at the sound of group-work.
“I will pick the groups of course.”
A wave of moans and groans graced the room.
“SILENCE! Now…listen carefully as I read it out to you,” She cleared her throat and sat on her desk, “Let’s see…the first group shall be Aladdin, Hercules, Phil and Wendy.”
Aladdin stood and sat next to Hercules and Phil who were already seated together; Alice skipped to the seat next to Herc.
“The next group is Rapunzel, Ariel, Naminè and Axel.”
Naminè breathed in a sigh of relief before Axel suddenly yelled, “Yes!” after finding out he was going to be working with three of the hottest girls in class…one of whom was his girlfriend who playfully punched his arm.
“The third group is Kairi, Phoebus, Roxas and…” she paused, smiling devilishly at the couple, “Jasmine.”
Roxas slumped in his chair as Sora cast him an, “It’s going to be alright,” smile.
“And the remainder students who are: Sora, Peter, Esmerelda and Xion. All of you will use your two periods for getting together and planning everything. Oh yes and Principal Maleficent has also granted me to give whoever we decide was the best this pass,” she reached in her pocket and flashed four blue and white cards, “This is a rare reward Principal Maleficent is giving, as a pass to a fault. Which means you mess up with her, the pass acts like a Get Out of Jail Free card. Of course one time use. She said she wanted more enthusiasm in art; and this is the bait. Now go and plan, and try to keep you voices down.”
Afterschool Sora and Roxas sat outside the school, waiting for Ven and Van to finish their detentions…due to a heated argument during science. They sat there in silence, just taking in the setting sun and each other’s presence.
“So what do you think of this whole mess?” Roxas suddenly asked.
“Which one? The contest or Ven and Vani?” Sora chuckled lightly, resting his head on his boyfriend’s shoulder.
“I think those two can handle themselves but…the contest. I don’t know…a pass to get out of trouble? It just seems really weird.”
“What? I think it’s a great thing! Maleficent is normally a battered old crow but it looks like she’s softened!”
Roxas smiled slightly, “Yeah I guess you’re right.”
“I know I am! Now stop worrying and may the best man win!” He held out his hand.
Roxas took it and shook it, readying for a contest against his boyfriend.
