Hey you guys! It's been a while but while taking my 'break' I have been working on creating some new DIYS for everyone!

I will be giving you tips on organizing bookshelves inspired by Pinterest and Tumblr.

This isn't exactly under the DIY category, but I find that this is very simple and helpful, and can completely transform your bookshelf, as it did to mine.

No items other than the books on your shelve!🎉

Steps:

1. Take out all your books from your bookshelves.

2. Create 4 categories: Donate, Keep Elsewhere, Trash, and Keep on Bookshelf

3.  Once you have narrowed down the books you will keep on your bookshelf (I chose the books I cherished most and looked most decorative), pick out one book you would like to display on each shelf (see picture).

4. Lay out your books vertically and organize them based off of height. Keep display books, picture books, and magazines to the side.

5. Instead of using book stoppers, which can cost lots of money, you will be using your own books. On each shelve, line up some of your books on one side, and stop them with a pile of some of your other books, making sure everything looks uniform.
TIP: You can stack/line up your books at all the same height, or shortest to tallest.

6. If you own any picture books or magazines you can simply stack some up on one side, and lean some on the other side.
TIP:  Switch the sides you lean and stack up your books. (On one shelf I stack up/leaned my books to the left, on the one below I stacked to the right, etc.)

7.  Set your display books on top of your stack up books to add a personal touch.

Ta da!! You are finished!
