Just One Bite

Chapter Eight

SLATER

Sometimes I hate being the queen's " Right Hand".
I have to sit through these boring meetings and listen to the villagers complain about the simplest of things.
I don't have enough Cows for the family.  My son is planning on leaving me...is there a way you can talk to him? I know...I sounded kinda selfish and shallow but, I've heard them complain about the dumbest things on this realm.
   I was only 18 and I wanted to do 18 year old things, like go out to the club, drink until I pass out and make out with my girlfriend. I haven't seen Ligia in about two days.
I was at the fifth " The Villagers matter" meeting of this month. I knew I wasn't really needed but, the Queen thinks that Ligia was a distraction. So, she's been purposely keeping me away from her. The Queen stood in the middle of the circle and everyone's eyes were on her. She was of course, in her long gown, beautiful as always.
" Welcome everyone. Today we have Farmer Odom and his wife, Danellka, and they came here to discuss some of the problems, they and some of the other villagers are facing. "
The queen gave farmer Odom the stage. 
" Hello everyone, as you all already know. I'm Farmer Odom and I came here today to discuss a very big issue that is affecting some of the smaller villages. This is something different, Someone has been drinking from our cows and other animals. Me and the other farmers-" he points to the other guest farmers, " Noticed a similarities. Bite marks. Someone has been feeding off our animals. Yes we are vampires but, what we noticed is that the bite marks would turn a very blue-ish color and the animals would explode. This is something bigger than ourselves so we thought we should talk to the Queen about it."
     He was right. That was unusual. The Queen and I locked eyes for a second. Was She was thinking what I was thinking?  The Queen took back her spot.
" Odom, Thank You for coming in and telling us about this. You are a very kind and smart man. I can assure you that, we will get to the bottom of this. I will send my best researchers and brave men to go investigate. We will also send some cows and animals to your farms. Anyone else?"
Nope.
" Do you think this has anything to do with Allyon?" I asked, power walking after the queen.
She was a fast one. Even in heels. We got to her office. I locked the door after us. It was a good thing her office was sound proof. What was said in here stays in here.
" Yes."  She drop down on her chair and pull out a folder.
" This was from one of my sky man."
The Queen pull out a picture and hand it to me. " Is this Allyon?" I asked.
     Allyon was a legend in the kingdom. Her name alone brought shivers to the locals. I've heard about her every since I was a little child. She contained one of the most powerful power a vampire can have. Telepathy. Only her and Ligia contains the ability.  No other vampire in the entire world has it.
In the photograph, Allyon stood in an alleyway and her red hair blew in the wind.
" Wait...When was this picture taken?" I demanded.
" Last night."
"Last night? How come I didn't sense her or anything? I sometimes sense things even in my sleep. Why didn-"
" I didn't sense her either. I think, she's messing with our ability."
" Is she still in this realm?"
" No. My men chased her of."
" Just like that? I thought she was the great Allyyon. I thought she didn't take shit from anyone?"
The Queen just shrugged. Allyon was up to something else.
" Do you think the girl is ready?"
Did I? She did managed to kick my ass. But, I wasn't Allyyon. 
   The Queen's office door flew open and someone walked in. Someone whom I thought I'd never see again. Scarlett Point. The Queen didn't seem so surprised. Meanwhile, my eye balls were almost out of their sockets.
" Hello you majesty." Scarlett greeted, smirking.
She then turns to me, " And Hello Aleron." She gave me a peck on the cheek.
Scarlett sat down on the queen's desk, making herself at home.
" Will you mind telling me what the hell is going on?" I demanded.
I really needed to know why the hell was my ex girlfriend here?
" Aleron, I've decided to rehire Scarlett. She'll be a part of the team again."
" Why?" Why would she do this to me? Why would she hire the girl that cheated on me? I thought the Queen had a softer spot for me than that? I guessed not.
" There has been a change to our plan."
" Huh?"
" Ligia, Scarlett, You and I are going to fight Allyyon."
" What?"
When did she decided on those changes? I just stare at the Queen.
" We'll need the best of the best."
" And Ligia." Scarlett added laughing.
I was finally freed and I couldn't be happier. After taking a shower, I ran to Ligia's room and knocked heavily on her door. The minute she opened the door my lips attacked hers. Closing the door with my feet, I guided her to the bed and she fell backward. I was between her legs, our lips moving on each other's. She moaned. Which, sounded sexy as hell by the way. She of course had to break the moment. She pulled her lips from mines.
" Sorry to end this Blondie but, will you mind telling me what was that all about?" She asked smiling, her dimples showing
I 've missed you. I wanted to scream but, I didn't  want to sound too desperate, Or worse scare her off.
" I haven't seen you in like two days. " Here we go- that sounded less desperate.
Then Scarlett came to mind.
Should I tell her Scarlett and the plan? But, I needed to tell her about the changes in the plan. That was more important. I moved from between her legs and sat down on her bed.
" Umm." I begin, " There has been some changes in the plan."
She quickly sat up, " Really? Is it something big, like I have to wear an ancient dress to fight her?"
I laughed, " No. The Queen thought about it and decided that You, me and Scarlett will fight
Allyon."
" Who's Scarlett?"  Of course that's all she caught.
" Just some girl." That you had history with. Your first kiss and your first time. But, Ligia didn't need to know all of that.
" Do I get to meet her?"
" Yeah."
" Cool. Is she pretty?"
" I don't know."
" Oh ok."
