"Doesn't this every get boring for you?" my best friend Danni said breaking the silence. The two of us were hanging out backstage in my husband's dressing room. He was the star in a Broadway musical and Danni's boyfriend was in the same play.

I sighed, "Sometimes it does." I looked at Danni and knew she didn't believe me. "Alright most of the time it's extremely boring."

"That's what I thought," Danni laughed. "How are things going though? I mean things were tough after that separation you and Matt had."

Matt and I had only been married for four years, but we already had two separations. I knew what he did while we were separated, how could I not. His co-star bragged all over that she had slept with him, it was impossible to not know the news. Danni sensed I was hiding something from her. "Chris, what is it?"

I shook my head, "It's nothing, don't worry about it. But we're starting to get our marriage back on track. He's even discussed us starting a family soon," I said giving a small smile.

"And you're not ready?"

"It's not that, I'm just worried that he may decide to separate again. And it'll be worse if a baby is involved."

"Am I interrupting anything?" Joey, my brother, said walking into the room. He was never too fond of Matt, even though he was in the play as well. Of course, I never told him what I knew about what Matt did when we were separated. If he knew, he would've had me moved into his apartment and far away from Matt.

"Just the usual girl talk," I laughed going over to hug him. "Shouldn't you be out on the stage?"

"I still have time before I'm needed. Of course I needed to see my little sis," he said hugging me back. "Hey Danni," he said seeing her sitting in the back.

"Nice of you to notice me," she teased. He always treated Danni like a sister since she was always at our place while we were growing up.

Joey looked at me, "Is everything alright? I see you have your ring back on."

I knew he wasn't going to like what I was about to say. "Joey, I told you many times already, Matt and I are not getting a divorce. We love each other and we want our marriage to work out."

"Even after he left you twice, all because of an argument?"

"Not this again Joey. Matt knows he was stupid for doing so but he wants us to be back to being a happily married couple."

"Never going to happen with him," he said under his breath. "I just hate that he hurt you."

"You're making it sound worse than it was."

"He's right," Danni said getting out of the chair she was sitting in. "You spent all those nights at my place, crying that you missed him. But I do think you're right and need to get your marriage on track by yourselves, with no one interfering," she said glaring at Joey.

"She's my sister, it's my job to interfere when her husband is treating her like shit!"

"Guys! I'm right here you know," I said. "Danni, you're right. Matt and I don't need anyone interfering with us. And Joey, you need to face the facts that I am growing up. I'm a married woman now and you need to accept that. Especially if you're going to be an uncle probably soon!"

Joey's mouth dropped, "You...you're pregnant?"

"No I'm not pregnant, not now at least. But it's something Matt's been bringing up lately. He thinks it's time we start a family. But if you keep hating him like this then you can bet on me never letting you see your niece or nephew!"
