Chapter One/ You Have My Word.

I rush out of the house to get into my car before anyone's awake. I drive down the road fixing my old beat up shirt and my belt.  Once I arrive to work at the old shack house I enter so I can make money.

Chapter One/ You Have My Word.

The old shack house ain't bad as it sounds its by the ocean and many hot guys come in to grab drinks, alcohol and snacks. its a cute little place.

I put my hair up into a pony tail and put on a apron, That has a very visible grease stain on the front. "Cassie! Table Four!" Gavin screams I rush to grab a pen and my ordering notebook and 4 menus off of the bar stumbling in the process "on it" I quickly answered.
I walk towards table 4 and I see who's sitting there a big grin flashes on my face.
My big brother, Jake and his no good but trouble friends.
Jake don't treat me like my father and other brother do.
he lives with his friend Tyler, Tyler can be a bit over bearing and loud but he is a good kid, from what I know.
I continue to walk toward the table.
" hey Cass!" Jake says greeting me with a toothy smile. 
"Hey, here are the menus today's special is the coconut rum smoothie " I report to them, "give us a minute" Tyler says. 

"Take all the time you need." I tell them giving them a smile walking back to the desk. I see Tyler swinging his arm around like a goofy Baboon so I walk over getting ready to take their order.  After I take there orders I collect there menus and walk up to the bar and place the menus in a stack where 4 others sit. 

"I have 4 orders" I tell Gavin handing him a paper full of the boys shakes and snacks.
My brother leaves and I continue on working, I hear the bell of the door go off I look up quickly to see a Green eyed goddess walking up to the counter, we lock eyes for a split second til the girl in front of me snapped her fingers in my face, "bush light, 30 pack" I say focusing back to the young girl, "yeah, make it snappy" I turn around and walk back where the fridge is and grab a 30 pack of bush light, "I need to see a photo ID before you can continue this purchase" I say looking at the girl her face turned white, "I think I left them in the car hang on I'll be back" she quickly says nervously and turns around and leaves.
"Kids huh" the man that I locked eyes with says with a British accent and a deep chuckle , "yeah," I chuckle "what can I get you?" I ask him nervously.
"Just a coke" he replied, I grabbed a coke from the back and he handed me a $2.00 bill,I glance at his finger that has a gold wedding band, I ring up the coke and put it in a plastic bag, I hand him the bag along with 40¢. Before you knew it he was gone,
"Married?" Gavin chuckled walking back from taking an order, "only the cute guys are already taken, have criminal records or have a drug addiction" I huff.
"Treatable " Gavin laughs a little to hard, which is irrelevant.
"Hey your shift is over" he says to me. I glance at the clock it reads, 3:45 pm.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" I ask Gavin,
"I'll be here" he said with a smile,
Gavin is around 26 years old, he has a wife named Kelly and they own the old shack.
I take down my hair and remove my apron.
I grab my bag and leave the shack I go straight to my car to go home.
I hope no one's home, I don't want to deal with my brother and father.
I pull into the driveway and turn off my car, noticing two other cars I don't recall knowing and their by far too nice to be anyone we know. But they are sitting inside of the garage.
I exit my car walking towards the front door.

 Taking my house keys out to unlocking the door, I notice the door was already unlocked then I hear a few deep voices I can recognize my brother and fathers, but not the other 3, One reminds me of the man at the shack that bought a coke.

I enter the living room very carefully in case my brother or father throw any beer bottles in my direction.
I peer at the 5 men in my living room.
I notice one is my cousin Benny, he lives In the united kingdom i thought,
"Ah Cassie" Benny says and stands up quickly to give me a hug.
"Hey Benny" I smile wrapping my arms around his torso because of how tall he is.
"Cassie beer" my dad snottily said shaking his empty beer bottle in the air, I grab his bottle making sure I didn't have any attitude and walk to the kitchen.
I bend down and open up a new case putting a few in the fridge and grabbed one of the warm ones.
"Here" I handed him the warm beer,
He opened it up taking a drink, his face goes sour when he feels the warmth of the beer run down his throat.
"What the fuck is this?!" He raises his voice making me flinch. He threw it at the wall with much force, more than usual. "Clean that up and get me a cold one you fucker." he said with anger in his eyes.
I do as I am told because if not he will hit me harder than expected.
I rush to the kitchen to grab the dust pan and broom out of the closet closing the door and grabbing a cloth that is in the sink.
I go into the living room and start to clean up the glass then wipe up the beer with the cloth I got out of the sink.
"My beer sweetie" my dad glances over to me.
I don't say a word I grab him a beer and realize it's still warm, so I grab a glass and I fill the glass up with some ice and poor the beer into the glass, I return with the beer I sit it down on the counter.
"May I introduce myself," a tall handsome man with light blue eyes says with a fluent Italian accent standing up holding his hand out to me, "my name is Rider Dylan," he says I shake his hand politely"I'm Cassie Benny's little cousin"
Rider gives me a smile,
"Your that works at the shack correct?" The man sitting on the couch says, I look down and see the green eyes that I seen earlier today.
"Shes been working there for 5 years, no need to worry about Cassie, Cassie your room get out of my presence." My dad snarls sipping on his beer. 
Rider lifts my hand and leaves a little kiss that burns my hand a bit, "I hope to see you soon," he smiles. I race upstairs to get a shower.
Once I get out of the shower I get dressed in a pair of cloth shorts and a tang top I have a pretty bad bruise on my shoulder. I ignore it and put a hoodie on, I go down into the living room, "father what do you want to eat?" I ask sweetly so he won't get angry.
"Something delicious we are having a your dear cousin and his friends stay for a few days" he says and waves me off.
I go into the kitchen removing my jacket. I grab ingredients to make simple chicken Parmesan.
I grab a cutting board and a knife and cut the chicken into small bits.
"Watch what you're doing with that knife" my cousin Benny chuckles I noticed rider behind him.
"I'm not you," I say giggling about the time Benny stuck a knife into his leg. " I thought we said we'd never talk about that" Benny says opening the fridge for a beer. "Woah" Benny says and grabs my arm looking at the black and blue bruise on my arm, "who did this?!" Benny said getting a bit angry. "I ran into the doorway at work to day how clumsy of me" I said quickly pulling my arm away. "It's clearly a hand print he looks down to my thigh where a few bruise are.
He makes me sit down, "who did this?" Rider says a bit more angry than Benny.
"I- I can't tell you guys" I say.

"Tell me" Benny says making me flinch.
Rider pushes Benny away a bit, he gets into his knees and looks at my thighs and shoulder, "did your father do this?" He asks making eye contact with me, I stand up and put my hoodie on and continue to cook,
Benny grabs his beer and leaves along with rider.
I finish cooking and serve out the dish into different plates inside of the kitchen.
I walk into the living room "there is food on the table" i say and go up to my room without eating dinner.
I lock my door not wanting anyone to walk in I put my headphones into my ear and play some music, I try to fall asleep but can't so I watch a few episodes of supernatural.
After 4 episodes it's around 3 in the morning and I'm starving. I slip into a pair of skinny jeans and a hoodie. I grab my car keys and my purse and walk down stairs.
"Cassie what are you doing awake?" My brother tarry asks while sitting at the table with rider, and his brother I think I never caught his name, and Benny, I ignored tarry.
"I don't think I ever caught your name" I say to the married man that came to the shack. "My name's Troy" he says with a smile,
"I'm going to get a pack of cigarettes and something to eat" I say and walk over to the door bending down to grab my left black van putting it on my foot doing the same with the right.
"Hey, dear do you think I can tag along I need a few things as well," rider says.
"Sure, I wouldn't mind some company" I say with a ghostly smile.
We exit the house and get to my Jeep, it's a silver liberty.
I get in and start up the car, and back up pretty quickly, surprising rider.
"Sorry" I said changing the gears and driving down town to get to co-fair that is open 24/7.
I noticed rider kept seeking glances at me I kinda just ignored them,
"So rider how long are you staying in town for?" I ask.
"Just a few weeks maybe" he said looking at me smiling.
"Why are you here?" I ask another question.
"Strictly business" he says getting a bit sour.
"Oh, how did you and Benny meet?" I ask him another question. I cross the bridge hitting a speed bump making him bounce a bit.
"Through business" he answers.
I park in the parking lot and grab a $20 out of my bag and I look at rider, "what do you want?" I ask.
He smiles at me and makes eye contact "oh, I don't need anything thank you though"
If he didn't need anything than why did he come along?
I go into the store and buy a pack of cigarettes and a bag of chips and a red bull.
I pay for it all at the counter.
I get into the Jeep start it up and pull out of the parking lot.
"You asked me a few questions, so I think I should ask you a few" Rider says fixing his tie and smoothing out his black over coat.
"I guess that's fair" I said.
"Who left those bruises?" He asks making my belly drop.
"My father and brother tarry" I said but quickly fallowed with " don't tell anyone"
"You have my word" he said and didn't ask another question.
