"I haven't really got back here since.." George closed his eyes, chest squeezing painfully as he remembered her. "Since my ex girlfriend stayed with me."

Ex girlfriend. That label sounded so bitter on his tongue so he spat it out as quickly as possible.

It was too late.

Pictures of her, pictures of Pattie, her pictures flashed in his mind. She smiling at him. She laughing at him. She screaming at him.

He didn't realize he was already crying when he felt Ringo's thumb brush against his cheek.

George looked at him, glassy brown eyes wide with surprise. His expression mirrored Ringo's, who's lips were parted ever so slightly.

"George?"

"I-I.." His cheeks turned red in embarrasment. He uttered a nervous laugh. "T-This is ridiculous.."

"No it isn't!" Ringo argued.

"It is." George quickly wiped the stupid tears away. "I'm crying for a girl who fucking left me two years ago."

"But I'm here now, aren't I?" Ringo said softly, carefully even. "I promise I won't leave you like her."

Ringo kissed him, taking him completely by surprise. His soft lips brushed over his wet cheek.

"I promise I won't leave like her."

As if you could leave in the first place.
