Derek Hale's POV
I looked out the plane window, seeing the world below. The stewardess walked over to me, carrying a wine bottle.
"Can I interest you in any?" She asked, holding out the bottle. I shook my head and she walked away. After I had been sent from Afghanistan on a new assignment in the White House, they had sent me on this plane to start work right away. My commander hadn't been specific about what I was going to be doing but I assumed it had something to do with the special operations. I turned to look back out the window, unsure whether I was excited for the upcoming job or upset.
When we finally got there, I was given my one bag and was told to wait in the lobby. As a soldier, I had learned to pack efficiently. It wasn't long before I saw a tall man with dark skin and sun glasses walking towards me. I stood up as he came to a stop in front of me.
"Are you Agent Hale?" He asked.
"Yes," I said. He held out his hand and I handed him my tag.
"I'm Agent Boyd," he said as he looked at it for a moment before handing it back to me. I put it around my neck as I grabbed my bag and followed Boyd out the door. He led me to a black limousine and he got inside behind me. Once we got to the White House, Boyd and I got out of the car and walked up to the gate. Boyd lowered his glasses as he looked into the surveillance camera that was in front of the gate.
"Come on in Boyd," the person on the other side of the microphone said. Boyd put his glasses back on and walked through the now open gate and walked up to the door. I followed him, carrying my bag with me. Finally, we got inside and I saw a group of people standing in front of the door. They immediately made a path for us and I followed Boyd upstairs.
"Meet you assignment," Boyd said as he opened a door off to the left. We walked inside and I saw a boy standing there, making out roughly with a girl. The girl was riding him, yanking his shirt off while kissing him. Boyd coughed and both the boy and the girl stopped. The girl giggled and ran out the door, leaving the boy lying on the bed. He sat up, running a hand through his hair. He was skinny, small, and all around defenseless. He grinned up at me as he adjusted his shirt.
"Hey, are you my new body guard?" He asked. I turned to Boyd, shaking my head.
"This can not be my new mission. I will be a foot soldier. I will go to California. I will not be a body guard for the president's son."
"I'm sorry Hale but this is your new mission. I will give you two a minute to get to know each other." Boyd turned and walked out the door.
"I'm Stiles," the boy said as I turned to him. Being in the army teaches you to read people. I could tell that Stiles was sarcastic, stubborn, and going to be an all around pain in the ass.
"I'm leaving," I said as I walked towards the door. I could hear Stiles running up behind me.
"Hey, listen. I know that I may have given you the impression that I'm a playboy but I'm really not." Stiles run in front of me and put his hands on my chest, stopping me.
"Please, don't leave." I blinked when I heard the sadness in the young man's voice. "My mom just died and my dad's not around enough and I can't stand being alone."
"Fine," I said, crossing my arms. Stiles looked up excitedly.
"Yes!" He said. What had I gotten myself into?
