I awoken by someone shaking my shoulders. "Amber uh wake up." I open my eyes and see Adam standing near the bed awkwardly. What's up with him? He looks over to the other side of the bed and that's when I realize what happened last night. Uh oh! Brad's still fast asleep beside me. "Um Adam it's not what it looks like." He looks away toward the door. "No it's cool I was just gonna wake y'all up to go eat breakfast." Then he turns around and walks out of the room. I sigh, I guess I need to wake Brad up. "Hey Brad wake up breakfast is ready." He stretches and groans. "Well good morning beautiful." My stomach erupts with butterflies. Why is this man so sweet to me? "So Adam came in and saw us.." Brads eyes go wide and he suddenly stands up. "Oh shit no that's bad." I stare confused at him. "We'll I mean it is awkward but what's the big deal?" He looks at me like I grew three heads. "What's wrong is its the end of the world and were doing this.", he gestures between the two of us. Wow that really hurt. "Fine then lets not do this.", I mimic his hand gesture. He gets a guilty look on his face. "Amber you know I didn't mean it like that." Oh sure you didn't mean to make yourself sound disgusted by me. "It's cool I don't really care anymore. You can do whatever. Lets just stay out each others way." I don't wait to hear what he has to say next. I just walk out an slam the door behind me. I get down stairs and sit at the table. "Good morning guys." Everyone says good morning and we all grab our breakfast which isn't much but a bag of chips. I feel eyes on me and see Adam looking at me. I ignore it and continue eating the chips. a few minutes later Brad walks down the stairs and sits down next to me. Great why did he have to do that? I finish the chips real fast and stand up to throw them away. "I'm gonna check out the other houses and see if I can find anything."
Brad starts to stand. "Amber that's not a good idea to go by your self, ill go with you." I stop and slightly turn. "I don't want you to go. I'm fine by my self." He sits back down. Adam suddenly says,"Um ill go with her." Brad gives him a little glare. "She's in good hands." Everyone nods and then me and Adam walk out.
It's going to be a very long day.
