The Contract

Honey's P. O. V.

I sat on my bed crying my eye's out. My dad? Out of all people?

I got off my bed, dried my tears, and went downstairs. I got a snack from the kitchen and sat in the couch in the den. I reread the sheets of paper in my hands countless times until my dad and Chresanto came bursting in and my dad ran to hug me but i pushed him away.

Dad: Honey what's wrong? Chres called me and said you ran out of the school!

I stared at him through glassy eyes. My shirt stained from the many tears wipes and make up trails.

Me: I never thought you'd stoop this low... But you can't always trust everybody, can you?

Dad: What are you talki-

I cut him off by throwing the thick stack of papers at him.

Me: THAT'S WHAT THE HELL I'M TALKING ABOUT!

I screamed at him. Chresanto and my father jumped in surprise to the sudden authority that had taken over my voice.

Dad: Where did you find this?

He sounded upset, but nowhere near how pissed I was.

Me: Why would you do some shit like this to me?

I tried to calm down. I turned to Chres.

Dad: Watch your mouth and tone with me young lady!!

Me: Or what dad? You gonna do this again? As for you! I hate you. I thought i really loved you and that you felt the same!! But it was all a game to you!

Him: No! It wasn't like that!! I swear! Well that's how it started... But then I started to, -

Me: SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!Cause i really don't wanna hear what you have to say!

My mom walked through the door and started asking why I was yelling.

Me: Ask these business partners about their little investment!

I responded close to tears. But I sucked them back in. He WAS NOT about to see me hurt. My mom turned towards my father and my used to be.

Mom: What the hell is going on here?

Nobody said anything. They both looked down, ashamed. I almost had a fuck to give!

Mom: Well!!!

She turned to me.

Mom: Baby what happened?

Me: I guess when dad was writing letters to Chresanto before he came, he slipped in a contract. Saying that Chresanto could only live with us if he got me to like him, dated me, and kept me out of trouble. It also said if he were to succeed in doing so, he would receive a car, a full college tuition, and a cash advance of $15,000. He did all of this to keep his reputation clean so he could get promoted at work and make double the money he's making now. At the end of the day, dad sold me...

I felt hot tears racing down my face. Leaving blank steaks through my foundation.

Mom: What? Are you serious Jamal???? What the hell is wrong with you?

She slapped my father and stormed out of the room. He chased after her. Then it was me and Chres. He said nothing.

After about 15 minutes my father came downstairs and stood in front of me.

Dad: What do you want me to do to make this up to you?

Me: Oh you'll NEVER make this up to me. But I want him gone!

Him: Are you serious?

Me: I was talking to my dad! NOT you! So shut up and sit back!

Dad: ....Honey. I can't just send him back!

Me: And why the hell not?

Dad: It's a system! He's here for another year and a half.

Me: Well find a way to make him leave!

I got up and walked out of the house.

Sydnei's P. O. V.

I got my scores today. Me and Legacy stared at the envelope in my hands.

Legacy: Lets just open it.

Me: No. I'm not ready. What if I didn't pass?

Legacy: There is only one way to know.

He took the envelope out of my hands and was about to open it when someone knocked on the door. I got up as he started opening it, not even telling him to wait. I opened the door. I pulled her inside when I seen the tears streaming down her face.

Me: What's wrong with you?

Her: ...He sold me!!!!

I didn't know what she was talking about. We sat down in the dining room at the table and she told me everything. I almost cried for her. I hugged her as she cried. I pulled away from her.

Me: You need to stop crying on some real! This isn't you. What happened to the "I don't cry over dudes! No guy will ever make me cry!"?

She looked at me.

Her: Your right. I'm done. It's over. I'm done with him, my dad, all of it.

She sat up, wiped her face and smiled.

Me: Alright! Well,...

She hugged me as we stood up and walked out the door without another word.

I was walking back to Legacy and he met me half way. He hugged me tight and whispered"I'm sorry" In my ear. I knew what he wa talking about. I hugged him back and cried into hus chest. He pulled back and kissed my forehead.

Him: C'Mon.

He pulled my arm and we got in his car. I didn't know where we were going and I really didn't want to. The car stopped and I opened my clenched eyes. We were at the school.

Me: Why are we here?

Him: To set this shit straight!

He got out the car and waited for me behind the trunk. I sighed heavily and got out the car. We went inside and sat in the office waiting for the principal. When he finally came in Legacy started talking!

Legacy: We are sorry to bother you today sir, but I think there has been a mess up on her test scores.

He gave him the envelope. I held his hand and the principal looked up at me.

Sir: Well the only thing I can do is check the computer.

He turned around in his swivel chair and pulled up records.

Sir: Name?

Me: Sydnei Montgomery. Sydnei S-Y-D-N-E-I.

He pulled it up and then looked at my test scores.

Sir: OH! I see the problem! These are Sydney! Montgumery's test scores!!!! You young lady, actually passed the test with flying colors! I'm so sorry for the mishap! After this year you will be emmited into any college of your choice!! Mr. Legacy! I hope you chose the right school! That basketball scholarship will take you places!

He smiled at us and we walked out, I cheesed and kissed Legacy!

Me: I MADE IT!!!!
