He drove fast out towards the backroads surrounding the city so he could drive even faster. The rental car he was in wasn't designed to go as fast as the cars he really liked to drive, but he could still crank some serious speed out of it on the straight country roads that police very rarely frequented. He had to have time to think. He didn't want to yell at Elena...he'd yelled at her before. Made her cry. Was he running away? Is that what he was doing? Well fine. He'd rather run away than blow up at her like he had when he was a teenager. He had to blow off some steam. Get the anger out.He pulled over to the side of the road at the first large tree he spotted on the side of the road and got out of the car, taking a running start up to the tree and screaming at the top of his lungs into the rural night air, punching the trunk of the tree as hard as he could, first with his right hand, then his left, ignoring the sharp pain that shot through his fist with each successive hit.

As she heard Destiny began to give off a light snore Elena smiled. Standing up with daughter in toll. Lucky thing she was off tomorrow. A morning to sleep in just a little. And figure out what David was going to do. He wouldn't try to take her would he? Elena couldn't bare that. She knew she would worry all through the night. Laying Destiny back into bed. She went to her room and changed into some pajamas. A cute tank top and a pair of cheer shorts. She had lost all of the baby fat from where she had Destiny. She believed in staying fit. Walking back down the stairs she saw the card in the hall. Her eye brows drew together in confusion as she went to pick it up and frowned. "David.." She whispered. "He will be back for it." With that she layed it on the table. Leaving the front door unlocked as she laid on the couch. Turning on the television just to see Spongebob was still on. Leaving it on she let her thoughts run wild..About what they where going to do..And what he expected from them now. What he wanted.

He didn't know how long he was out there, hitting that tree trunk. Long enough for his hands to go numb. When he finally paused long enough to catch his breath, he realized that his fingers were entirely numb...and in the moonlight, he saw the tops of his fingers coated with a dark, wet-looking substance. Was he bleeding? His hands trembled as he looked at them, causing him to frown. He didn't feel quite so angry now. Not angry enough to go punching tree trunks, anyway. He scowled, not even remembering the last time he'd been so angry. He walked back to the car, wincing as he flexed his fingers. Maybe he'd overdone it. He reached into his pocket for his car keys and got into the car, driving slowly back to his hotel. His hands were hurting more with each passing moment.
He hoped he wouldn't have to go to a doctor about it...when he finally got to his hotel, he walked back up to his room, only to realize that he didn't have his room key. He swore under his breath. Did he drop it at Elena's? Part of him wanted to forget it and just get another copy made. That would certainly be easier. But since when was he the type to go for the easiest option? He sighed to himself, walking back down to the car to again make the drive to her house, quietly knocking on the door, his hands shoved as deep into his trenchcoat pockets as he could. God knows how she'd react if she saw them...

She heard the knock on the door and smiled. Knowing he would come back. Getting up she opened the door and stepped out of the way. "How about you come in we try that talk again? And then I will give you your key back." She said as she left the door open and went back to the couch. Giving a small yawn. Reaching forward she grabbed onto the card and hid it right underneath her as she waited for him to follow her. Knowing he would. They needed to work this out. Not them out. She could never forgive him for leaving her and never contacting her. And he wouldn't forgive her for keeping his daughter from him. Her eyes went to the television as she got comfortable on the couch.
