The Fated

Chapter One

This is the cave with the interior just to give you an idea of what it looks like. Tell me if you guys like it

Ariel:  

I peek out from under the log, watching as the kitten sniffs the air. Her eyes widen and she turns in my direction. She doesn't see me until I've launched myself out from underneath the log, and by that time it's too late. She lets out an irritated huff as I land on top of her playfully yipping.

"Yes, got her again Ariel" My fox Briar squeals. She loves it when we can get out and play. She is my main spirit, the only one I can talk to. As for my little sister Finley, hers is a cat. Or for now a kitten.

"I know, I know hahaha" I say silently giggling. I'm brought back to reality by Fin who keeps mewing at me. I think she wants me off of her. I jump off of her and shift back into my human form, as she does the same. Once she is completely shifted, she puts her hands on her hips and looks up at me with an annoyed glare. Oh gosh... Look how scary... It's like a baby bunny... I think I'm going to scream.

"You always beat me! Why?! I'm telling mommy and she will not be happy" She says pouting up at me. I roll my eyes at her, very threatening little child. Seeing that I'm not intimidated, she sighs and grabs my hand leading us back towards the cave. Our house isn't like many others, we live inside of a cave. It's not run down like you would think it to be, it's actually pretty fancy. It looks gorgeous on the inside and it's HUGE. We finally make it to the entrance of the cave. It's a small pond with a waterfall behind it. We walk behind the water fall to a puddle that connects to the pond, so that nobody can see us. This is the only way into the cave. It's so that anyone who isn't Fated can't get in. We quickly shift into a tiny minnow form and swim into the pond. We swim down to the tunnel that connects to the house and shoot out of the indoor fountain. Once we get inside, we shift back into our human form.

"Girls! Where were you?! We thought you were hurt or got captured or what if yo-" My mom rants as she runs up to us.

"Mom" I say quickly trying to get her to stop.

"Oh my god, you guys could have been killed... I'm so so so sorry babies I will not let you guys out again okay? It's perfectly safe in here wit-" She keeps going on like I didn't even say anything and hugs me.

"MOM!!" I yell, then I feel her tense up. She looks up at me as if saying what.

"Mom, we were fine, we ARE fine. Everything's good. Chill" She sighs and lets go of me. With that, she grabs my hand and leads me into the kitchen, where everyone is having dinner. My mom and dad lead our pride, which is all of The Fated, and make sure that everyone stays hidden and safe. They are mates. I don't really understand the whole mate thing... Apparently we all have a soul mate called a mate who is given to us by some moon lady. Which is completely and utterly crazy. I don't believe in it. It's a story, a myth. My parents definitely believe it though, so I guess I kind of have to as well. I want nothing to do with them. So I can tell you this right now, if I have a mate... I don't want one.

Especially, if they aren't Fated.
