Riiiing... Riiiing... Riiiing...
"Ugh.." I groaned as I heard my alarm starting to go off. I was very tired from going to sleep pretty late the night before, and I wasn't ready to wake up, get ready, and start school again. I shuffled my head deeper into my pillow and closed my eyes tighter.
Riiiing... Riiiing...Riiiing...
I sighed. I knew I had to get up, or else I wouldn't have time to get ready and end up arriving late to my first day of high school, which definitely wasn't something I wanted to happen. I brightened a little at the thought. My first day of high school...
I slowly brought myself to a sitting position and clicked the button to stop my alarm from blaring. Getting up from my bed, I glanced at the mirror.. my hair was a mess. I opened the drawers, picked out some dark blue jeans and quickly put them on, before reaching for a hair brush. My hair was light brown, and it's natural waves looked pretty enough to me. I took my pajama shirt off and replaced it with a comfy white, Lacey, shirt that was sure to make a good first impression. Now all I needed was some breakfast, mascara, and lip gloss.

As I sat in the bus, looking out the window with my earphones in, I started thinking back to how middle school had ended off. I had two great friends, a blonde named Caroline, and a non-natural red-head named Delilah, but for the most part I called her Del. I loved them to death, and they were pretty much all I was looking forward to on my way back to school.
I had met Delilah back in fourth grade in elementary school, and we had become fast friends. She was a crazy one, always ready to party and do crazy things. If I was ever bored, she would always be there with a full plan in mind to have fun. She was the only friend I would tell all my secrets too and that I would talk my head off to without worrying that she was annoyed. She did have a serious side too, though. If anything was ever wrong she would put her serious face on and talk in an important manner, ready to help me fix or confront whatever it was that was causing trouble. Yeah, she was pretty great.
It was in our first year of middle school that we ran into Caroline one day during lunch. Caroline was really pretty, with usually-curled long blonde hair, and deep blue eyes. She looked small and fragile, totally different from Delilah's dyed red hair, amber eyes, and fearless expression. When we found her she was struggling with some papers at her locker and looked utterly confused. I had quickly introduced myself and found out that she had just moved here from Washington. That wasn't too far from our California home, but still far enough to not know anybody. Me and Delilah invited her to hang out with us until she got settled in, but she stuck around with us for the rest of middle school. She didn't turn out to be as fragile as she first seemed, she still didn't enjoy partying and dangerous experiences as much as Delilah, but she was very smart and social. She was also, perfectly capable of defending herself and us, however weak she may have once seemed. Yeah, both of my friends were not people to mess with.
