"Lexi!" I yell into the deep, black abyss. I started to feel rage, but then I began to feel some depression. The more I thought, the sadder I got. Then I realized, if I didn't want to lose my friend forever, I would need to go after her. I looked back to the car, the wind blowing through my hair. "Goodbye," I whisper, as I jump into a random pit in a tree that would soon become much more.

I fell for what feelt like hours, my stomach turning. I finally reached the bottom after about 4 minutes, and I landed on the hard ground. I lied there for a few moments, attempting to collect my thoughts. "I know how you're feeling. It'll go away in a few minutes." I looked up to see Lexi hovering above me, crossing her arms. "It really took you long enough."

"Lexi, you're alive!" I said as I tried to get back onto my feet. Lexi grabbed my hands and pulled me up. It was at this moment that I finally decided to look around and observe my surroundings. Lexi and I were standing in the middle of an abandoned field, everything around us black and white. There were no colors anywhere, not even on our clothing. I began to panic. "Umm, Lexi? What exactly happened? Where are all the colors? Will we ever see our families again? I don't know if my mother will be able to live if me and my brother are gone."

"Trust me, we're fine. And you're eyes will adjust after a while. I need to take you to see him. Josh has been waiting for you."

This was starting to get really weird. Here we were, in the middle of an abandoned field, surrounded by black-and-white woods, and now she wants to take me to see some guy named Josh? What kind of place was this? "Lexi, I just want to go home."

She snapped. "No! We cannot go home now! Josh already knows of your presence, and..." she began to cry. "And if this world goes down, I'll go with it! You are our only hope!"

This all seemed too sudden and crazy. Too... unreal. "Lexi, What do you mean that you'll go down with this world?"

Lexi wiped up her tears and started to speak. "I need to tell you something; something I've been hiding for a very long time. My mother is a Human, but my father is a Hollow. Back when they had me, it was forbidden for a Human to have a child with a Hollow, but my father didn't care. He loved my mother so much, that he risked his life to be with her. When they had me, the Hollowguards quickly executed my father. I was told that he died in a car crash until I was 7. Then, my mother told me the real truth. I am half Hollow. I am a part of this world because every Hollow is a part of this world, whether we're half Hollow or not. So if this world crumbles, then I will die on the spot." She checked her watch to see what time it was. "I don't have any more time to explain. I need to get you to Josh immediately so he can tell you exactly what you need to do."

I was speechless. This all seemed like such a dream. I had to pinch myself to assure myself that it was, in fact, a dream, but I never woke up. Suddenly, Lexi grabbed my arm, pressed a button on her batgirl costume, and we teleported.
