[Whatever Helps You Sleep At Night]

Brooke and I made it to home room, luckily the class wasn't that full so we got to pick seats next to each other. We sat in the back right corner.

As the class filled up the bell eventually rang. The teacher entered the classroom.

"Hello class, to-" the teacher said but he saw me " I see we have a new student here? Would you like to come up here and introduce yourself?"

I walked up to the front of the class and just waved and said," um, hey. I'm Scarlett Mills, I just moved here from Connecticut..." I trailed off and walked back to my seat with Brooke.

Everyone just kept staring at me and not paying attention to the teacher giving the lesson. I'm pretty sure Brooke and I were the only ones paying attention.

The rest of the classes before lunch was just me introducing myself and people staring at me like I had grown a second head.

"why is everyone staring at me?" I asked Brooke when we were putting our stuff away at our lockers.

She smiled at me," oh we just haven't had a new student in our grade for like ever! Don't worry, it'll die down in like a week or two."

As we entered the cafeteria, Brooke lead us to a table where her friends sat.

"hey guys! This is Scarlett Mills, and she's my new friend. Scarlett, this is Violet, Naomi, and Lucy. Then there's Lucas, Oliver and Mason."

"hey" they all said. I took a seat next to Oliver and Brooke.

"it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Willis. Oliver Willis," he said and took my hand and kissed it. I felt myself blush a bright red color the same as my leather jacket.

"uh-"

"you see what you did Oliver? You made the poor girl uncomfortable!!" Naomi shouted at him then turns towards me," sorry about him, he's just a weirdo."

"not to mention a major flirt," Violet said.

"..and annoying," Lucas replied laughing.

"hey! Y'all know I'm precious, don't deny it!!" Oliver said while pouting.

"whatever helps you sleep at night..." Lucy said and everyone started laughing.

'these guys are my type of people' I thought.

All of a sudden the cafeteria went quiet. It was like something made everyone freeze except me. Brooke sensed my confusion.

"just don't look up!!" she whispered while looking at her tray.

Me, being the girl who doesn't listen looked up to find four gorgeous guys walking by our table.I couldn't stop

looking at the one in the middle.

His vibrant dark ocean blue eyes locked with mine and I couldn't help but feel as if I was hypnotized by them. His shaggy chestnut brown hair swept over his eyes. He sent a wink at me and I felt a blush play over my face. I tensed and just stared down at my tray not bothering to look up at him.

When I could tell those guys had left when everyone had started talking again. I felt the whole cafeteria staring at me.

"Did you just see what Vincent did? Omfg, he practically just told the whole grade you're his!!" Brooke said.

"what the hell are you talking about? And who were those guys? Everyone acted as if they were afraid of them..." I said.

"oh Scarlett, poor little innocent Scarlett. You have no idea about anything here, do you?" Mason asked.

"um, no. It's only my first day here, how should I know who they are?" I asked Mason.

"they're pretty much the schools bad boy. They are stone cold and heartless, you'd have to be crazy or have a death wish to get on their bad side." Lucy whispered.

"there's Vincent, the leader, then Adam; the second in command. Chase, the kinda quiet one and lastly Ryder. He's been arrested and in juvy twice." Violet said.

"and when Vincent winked at you, he practically claimed you!" Oliver shouted.

'Damn, these guys are scary..' I thought.

The lunch bell rung and everyone headed off to class. I kept thinking back to those guys from earlier. Brooke and I were at our locker and I still was putting my stuff.

"Brooke, I'll meet you in class. I don't want you to be late." I told her and waved goodbye as she skipped off to class.

I was getting out my math textbook when I heard a deep voice from behind me that sent chills down my spine.

"Hello Beautiful..."
