“Ash we are leaving NOW! Am sorry for shouting at you but we have to leave”.
“Leaving...What do you mean mummy? And you don’t need to shout at me, I was just playing on my video game” I said as I stood up from the sofa in the living room.
Mum came over to me and sat me back on the sofa and whispered in my ear “your dad got a job and a big business up in California. We’ve already brought the tickets; your new school has taken you in, ok.
I looked at her in shock as she said we were going all the way to California,
“California? Mum that’s really far and why didn’t you and daddy tells me before? And what school?” I cried
“We’re going to live in California; do you remember your grandparent and your relatives? Maybe you won’t because you were a baby. I am really sorry you won’t see that darling Akappel Smith, I promise you’ll see her soon, ok.” said Samantha.
At the mention of Akappel’s name I began to seethe in anger as I realised I was being separated from my only friend.
“We are leaving to meet your father at the airport in two hours, so if I were you I’ll go see that darling, Akappel. Call her first so she knows you’re coming round to hers” Asked his mum worriedly.
“You could have told me, or inform me that we were going to California, to stay There. Anyways I’ll go see Akappel; we we’re going to the park before, so now I might as well tell her the awful news of us separating!” I shouted angrily.
“You don’t have to be self-centred, Ash. You’re only making it worse so please co-operate with me and your father at this” Replied Samantha.
“Bye mum” I shouted as I slammed the door.
