Chapter 7:
I wake to a hand on mine. My eyes flutter open to Coles eyes focusing on mine. I'm in his room I think, because its twice as nice as mine. And I realize it- I have no clothes on.
I sit up quickly, and give him questioning look.
He shakes his head.
"We didn't. You just passed out in my arms last night. And you woke up here and took a shower, then climbed into bed naked." He grins slightly.
I smile, my cheeks getting red with embarrassment. "Sorry."
He smiles.
I lean up and kiss him, pulling him down. I keep the blanket covering everything as we make out for probably a half an hour.

I walk into Dads office. The walls are glass, giving him a view of outside. Trees create a wall around the building, hiding it almost completely from the outside.
The sun rose just above them, brighter than ever. Its breathtaking.
"Scarlett, sit down."
I stay standing. He sighs.
"You were taken here because Chad was dangerous. He was going to take you, and that's unacceptable."
I roll my eyes.
"What about the one thing?"
"Well, your mother and I were very much in love. When this place was handed down to me, I was forced to leave. She told me that she was pregnant, and everything changed. Nobody here could know,so i shut her out of my life." He looks down, a look of sorrow covering his face."Then she died, and all my hopes of loving her again were gone." He paused. "But there was you. I had to track you down. Cole told me what Chad was doing to you. And I had to stop it. He was hurting my little girl." He takes a step closer to me, and tries to hug me. I quickly slap his hand away, a look of surprise covering my face.
"I'm not your little girl. You left me to Chad. What he did was your fault."
I see his pained expression, and walk out. Tears fall down my face, and I run to Coles room.
He sits on the bed, reading a magazine from the cafeteria. Looking up, he sees me, a hot mess, and rushes to his feet.
"Scarlett what's the matter?" I throw myself into his arms. My shoulders shake violently.
"Scarlett?" A voice says behind me.
My dad stands in the doorway, confused as ever.
"Mr. McCallaster." Cole says, looking like a deer caught in the headlights.
"What the hell do you think your doing with my daughter?"
Cole keeps an arm wrapped around me, and I hold on to him for dear life. My dad looked pissed. So was I.
"I'm not your daughter. You chose that. You will never be my father." I say in a steady voice. Cole looks down at me, a warning look in his eyes.
"I am your father god damn it." Dads eyes were full of fury, his jaw clenched and hands in fists. His eyes dart back to Cole.
He then reaches into his back pocket slowly. I gasp as a knife comes into view.
Cole takes a quick breath. "Mr. McCallaster, put the knife down."
"Take your hands off my daughter."
"Put the knife down. Please." I give him a pleading look. Cole wraps his arm protectively around me. I could sense he was as scared as I was.
Even in the five days I've been here, Cole is one of the only people I completely love and trust. Somehow I could tell he was my love.
Dads eyes continue to dart between Cole and I. Silence fills the air, and the knife goes back into the pocket.
"If you hurt her, I'll kill you."
"Mr. McCallaster." I say.
He looks at me, dullness in his eyes.
"If you hurt Cole, I'll kill you." I mock.
He turns and walks down the hall, his shoes clinking against the tile floor.
Cole intakes a breath, and I wrap my hands around him, holding him close.
"I love you, Cole." The words escape my lips before I could think.
I feel him smile. "Scarlett, I love you."
