~Carli's POV~
"I'm guessing this is the famous Carli!" Sabrina exclaimed.
Turns out in the time Kyle and I became distant, he made a new best friend. Her name is Sabrina, and she's living with him. To make it worse, she's gorgeous.
She seemed a little jealous when Kyle and I held hands, kissed, or even talked.
"Do you think we could talk in private? Just a quick chat!" She asked.
"Sure?" I said, weirdly.
Sabrina grabbed my hand, dragging me into her room.
"So you're the girl that Kyle is dating?" She asked.
"Yeah... That's me." I said.
"Well then, I just thought I'd warn you. I love Kyle, and I'll get him." Sabrina stated, fiercely.
"Another Barbie! Seriously! I can't catch a break!" I complained, with a smirk.
"I'm telling Kyle!" She scoffed.
"So you're a tattletale as well? Plus you can't fight your own battles." I stated.
At these comments, her eyes watered with tears of anger.
"I'm telling!" She yelled, before sprinting to the living room where Kyle was.
"Girls these days, I swear. They can't handle any pathetic comment." I mumbled, under my breath. Before running after her.
As I approached the living room, I heard Sabrina's cries, and Kyle's comforting words.
"Really Carli? I can't believe you'd say such mean things to Sabrina!" Kyle exclaimed.
"Did she tell you what she said to me?" I asked. "Because you seem to listen to everyone , except me."
"She didn't, but it couldn't have been as hurtful!" He said.
"How do you know?" I asked. "How do you know that she isn't lying? Why don't you listen to me?"
At that point, I was fed up.
"You know what! I'm done with all of this! You cheat, lie, and choose everyone over me. You say you love me, but you don't. I'm done believing in you, I'm done with you." I yell, a single tear streaming down my face. "Happy Sabrina?"
And with a final look, I left the house. I felt like I had nowhere to go, so I sprinted back to my house. Cold, lonely, and numb.
That night I got multiple texts from Kyle. I ignored them all. He didn't care. He never did, and never will.
The only thing I did, was call Caroline and Calum. I didn't want to do anything, but tell her everything that had happened.
Hey guys, can you come over?
-Carli
Yeah, I'll be over soon.
-Caroline
I'm coming girl!
-Calum
As soon as I read the texts, I sighed in relief.
Soon after the call ended, I heard the doorbell.
Thinking it was Caroline or Calum, I quickly went down the stairs and opened it.
But it wasn't either of them.
It was Kyle.
"What do you want?" I asked, suddenly angered.
"I came to apologize." He said, sadly.
"It's too late." I said.
"It's never too late." He tried, his eye filling with tears.
"It's always been too late. You've already proved that. I can't handle it anymore. You're too much." I said, tears in my own eyes.
"Please" He said, a sob escaping his mouth. "Give me another chance."
"I can't." I said, closing the door.
As soon as he left, I fell to the ground.
Crying was the only thing I could do.
He broke me, and left me to pick up the pieces.
I didn't matter to him. If he did, he wouldn't have cheated on me with Katie. If he did, he would've believed me.
When the doorbell rang again, I wiped my tears, and opened it.
It was Caroline, but she was holding a bouquet a roses.
"Who are these for?" I asked.
"You." She stated.
"From who?" I asked her.
"I don't know. But there is a tag on them. They were on the front steps." Caroline said.
"Woah! That's a lot of roses!" Calum said, as he walked in.
As I read the tag, I knew immediately who it was from.
Kyle.
That's why he was here! He came to apologize, and give me flowers.
Tears sprang back into my eyes, just thinking about him.
"They're from Kyle..." I mumbled, tears still flowing down my cheeks.
"What happened!" They both exclaimed.
"I broke up with him. Again." I said softly.
"Why?" Calum asked.
And then I started the story of what happened with Sabrina.
By the end, I was back to crying.
"I can't believe him!" Caroline yelled, outraged.
"Can I beat him up?" Calum yelled, mad.
"Guys! Calm down. I'm not done yet!" I said.
I then proceeded to explain how he came to apologize, and I shut him down.
"Are you sure that was the right decision?" Caroline asked me.
"No, I'm not. But I had no choice." I said.
"You always have a choice." Calum said.
"Not with this. Not with us. You can't choose who you love. You can't choose who cheats. You can't choose who you lose. And you can never choose who will hurt you the most." I said, breaking down into tears. "I can't focus on him anymore, especially when he doesn't care."
"The texts he sent you, prove otherwise." Caroline stated.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Have you read any of them?" Calum asked.
"No... Why?" I asked.
"You probably should..." Caroline stated.
With that, I picked up my phone and started scrolling through messages.
All the messages were sweet, heartfelt, and sad. But I couldn't handle the heartbreak that came with Kyle.
I couldn't deal with him anymore. I couldn't handle the heartbreak.
