When Daddy pulled up to the school it took me a while to take in my surroundings. Partly because I've never seen buildings so beautiful and partly because the school covered 10 acres of land. It took me about two minutes (and counting) to observe the whole place.

As I looked around I saw other students walking around in the same uniform as me, carrying the same books as me. But why was I still so different? Oh we'll that's simple to answer. I was almost as poor as a street beggar. Hobos my baby sister Myra called them. This school is one of the most prestigious schools in Toronto. In all of Canada in fact. And that makes its price extremely high. About $27, 000 a year. The only reason I got in is because my father is the new math professor. Thanks to him, mine and Myra's tuition is free.

"Sweetheart?" Dad was staring at me, his eyebrows raised in a perplexed position. "You've been daydreaming for a while. I've called you about a thousand times!"

"Daddy it was only four! I counted on my fingers!" Myra said cheerfully. She was a smart little six year old.

"Oh my Goodness! Well it seems as though little My- My can count better than big 'ole me! How about that!" Dad made a funny face at Myra who cracked up. Even I had to chuckle.

"Oh dad." I smiled at him. He gave me a forced smile back.

My dad isn't a happy man, you see. So much has happened in his short 37 year old life. First it was Mom's young pregnancy with me. She had me at 19 and decided from there not to give a crap about anything that had to do with newborn baby Willa Carter. The next week after, she ran off with some fool leaving Dad to take care of me alone. Which was working just fine for us. But of course, that wasn't the end of our troubles.

Dad had a steady job as a factory worker for a CD company. But he later got let go due to the fact that most revenue is coming from electronic sales. Artists just weren't wasting their time putting their music on CDs any more.

Daddy's Boss: "Listen here, Carter."

Daddy: I'm all ears sir."

Daddy's Boss: "I'm just gonna cut to the chase, 'kay? Carter, you're are a waste of space and I am wasting money that's coming from my pocket just to pay your useless ass."

Daddy:"But sir, I'm not useless! I make your CDs for you! Big name artists buy them and use them to record tracks! We got Michael Jackson and Eminem!"

Daddy's Boss:" Big name artists my foot! The last people who bought CDs from me were some stupid street kids who sell drugs and are trying unsuccessfully to become rappers! Now tell me, Boy, if you think a guy who goes by the stage name 'Dutty Watah' will make it big. Huh? Whadaya think?"

Daddy:...

Daddy's Boss: "Exactly what I was thinking, Quincy. He won't he's a nobody. And that's why I'm thinking of making my own record label. But I didn't call you in here to talk about my life and how great it's going to be. I- "

Daddy: "Called me in to tell me about how my life is going to suck now 'cause I'm fired, right? *sigh* I'm going to pack my stuff."

After that, Dad couldn't hold a steady job. He worked as a cashier at a drug store, an editor for a newspaper company and thousands more. I counted this time. But he could never hold a job.

Then he met the beautiful Miss Janice Harris. They got together immediately and had Myra. She sold her stock of Apple for 3 million dollars! We were living in the lime light. Until she passed on one night. Died from a fatal stroke. Myra was too young to remember her mother. And yes, you guessed it! Yet another problem arose. Janice had not written a will and her mother had always despised us so she claimed all of Janice's belongings for herself- including the money that was keeping us alive.

After that we just lived off of the welfare cheque dad gets every month. Until he landed this amazing job. I just hope he can hold it.

"Alright, girls time to go." Dad lifted Myra out of the car and then I stepped out. "Before you go, I just want to tell you one thing. Don't let bullies and haters get in the way of you being the best You can be. And boys. NO BOYFRIENDS!" Dad was afraid I would run away with a boy and never come back. For some reason he didn't really trust me in that sense.

"Yeah, I know. See you in 5th period math. C'mon Myra." But when I bent down to take her hand, she was nowhere to be seen. I looked around frantically trying to spot my baby sister. And then I saw her: standing in front of some guys pointing to me and saying something. 'Oh crap' I thought. I held my shoulders high and walked over to Myra and the group of boys, not daring to make eye contact with any of them.

"...sister! She's not allowed to talk to you so don't even think about talking to her! I don't want Will to get in trouble!" The boys were laughing at Myra. And then I looked up at them. They were all staring me and they were all so adorable! I felt my face get hot and looked away.

"That's her?" The one with the braids asked Myra, smiling at me.

"Damn! Yo sis is sexy!" Another with glasses said.

"C'mere, Ma!"

"Grrrrrrr!" Myra growled at the boys.

"Ahhhhh! The scary monster! Guys she's gonna get us! RUN!" Another boy said. They all started laughing and ran away playfully as Myra chased after them. I don't understand what dad's beef was with guys. These ones were so sweet. I mean I don't think most boys in their teens would think to play with a little 6 year old girl.

"Ha ha! Never thought I'd see my homies hanging with a little girl." A voice beside me said. I jumped and looked to my left. The cutest boy I'd ever seen was standing there.

He was wearing the same uniform as all of us but stood out. His shoes had neon green laces and his shirt was only tucked on one side. His tie was the standard boring school tie with the green, yellow and navy blue stripes but his tie pin was shaped like a peace sign! His face was flawless: perfect kissable lips with a cute little moustache growing on top. His brown eyes were welcoming and beautiful. And his hair was a mop of curls that sat on his head in a perfect afro. I didn't realize I was staring until he cleared his throat. Oh yeah and did I mention how sexy his voice was?

"I'm Jacob. But you can call me Princeton." He smiled and flashed his flawless white teeth. I looked down, blushing. He chuckled. "You can stare if you want, baby."

That's when I realized that I hadn't yet said anything to Him yet. "I'm Willa. But you can call me Will." I looked at him and thought about how awesome it would be for us to go out. But I couldn't just like a boy on the first day of school... Could I?

"C'mon, Will. Classes are about to start." Princeton walked ahead of me I ran to catch up. We walked in silence but I could feel his eyes looking at me. No not looking. Staring! Why was he staring at me? Oh my goodness maybe he likes me. I looked up at Princeton and he immediately blushed and looked the other way. 'Ha!' I thought. Prince ran his fingers through his thick hair.

"So, Will. Do you have a boyfriend or..." His voice trailed off.

"Are you kidding? My dad would never let me have one! He's afraid I'll do something stupid that I'll regret." It was true though. Dad would kill me if he saw me walking with Princeton right now. I looked up at him. He had a slight smirk on his face staring at something in front of us that I couldn't quite figure out what. If my hunch was right and he did like me, that look was definitely relief from the fact that I didn't have a boyfriend.

"Why are you asking about that?" I questioned Princeton.

"I, uh, I'm asking on behalf of a single friend. That's all. Why? Wh- what did you think I was asking for?" Prince was blushing so much! So cute!

"Whatever, Tomato Face." I teased. He smiled and blushed even more.

"This is your class. 1st period History. See you later, Willa." Prince said quietly.

"Alright, Prince. Meet you at lunch?" I asked, crossing my fingers and hoping he'd say yes.

"Yeah! Of course!" His face was glowing at my request for our lunch date. I started to turn to walk into the classroom when he planted a soft kiss on my cheek. "See you later."

Now I was Tomato Face.
