We sat there for a while frantically searching for something bad about Willa but all we could find was good! Helped out in an animal shelter, won an award for her academics. We had nothing on her!
"Damn!" I slammed my fist into the desk. Just as I was about to give up, Nancy says, "I found a newspaper article about her and her family!" At first I was like so? I've been in the paper hundreds of times. But then again, there might be something interesting.
"Read it." I instructed Nancy.
"Ok it says that Mr. Carter, Willa's dad is the new math teacher here at Yorkdale. His daughters Willa and Myra attend the school for free because of this arrangement."
"So? That doesn't mean anything."
"Oh yes it does!" Nancy beamed. "It also says that the Carters have been in poverty for their entire lives. They are very poor and getting the opportunity to work here and get an education Yorkdale is a blessing because if he didn't get that job, the Carter's would probably be living out on the street. This is just what we need!" I just smiled my best mischievous smile.
