It's been a month since Mr. Smith showed me his true identity and every day I have been more and more confused. Every time I look at someone, they notice me and stare at me until they can not see me anymore. It's really annoying, considering that I see the whole school in the halls and at lunch. Another thing I have realised is that everyone has been really kind to me, even my enemies are offering me food instead of taking mine. I don't know what has happened but I think they know something about my true identity. I'm really worried that they have been told something or figured it out for themselves, they might have found out that if I'm mad, I'm likely to use my mind control to get someone to kill themselves or at least cause serious damage to them. I know it might sound like I over react a little bit (OK, a lot) but having the power to control whoever you want can sometimes be a bit tempting, especially if you want to make someone look stupid it's easy and, as an added bonus, you can never be blamed for what happened. How can they find out it was you when you were nowhere near them when it happened? They can't, nothing else to it and if you do get caught, you can use the power to make the teacher forget what happened. I don't use my powers often, just in utter emergencies. Proper emergencies, not to ruin someone's makeup or something along those lines, I mean full blown emergencies. Speaking of emergencies, there was one today in school that no amount of powers can fix...
It was first thing and I was putting all my belongings into my lockers, trying to ignore the numerous stares I was getting, when I eventually managed to close my locker and was thinking how I really need to cut down the stuff I bring to school when I realised nobody was starting at me, which was now very unusual. They were all staring at one of my two BFFs, Felicity (she is a human like everyone else at the school and I haven't told her about me), she was acting very strange, as if she was trying to summon a demon or something. Of course, if she was she would be doing it completely wrong. I quickly hurry up to her and ask what she is doing, she doesn't deserve all of the stares, I do. She replies rapidly,
"Alice, it's Lucy, she is really ill and won't be able to come in for at least a week!"
"WHAT?!!" I shout as load as I can, claiming myself a lot more stares (if that is even possible). Lucy can't be ill, she hasn't missed a day off school since she first became my BFF, which was almost ten years ago, her parents would make her go to school even if she had been stabbed multiple times and was almost dead. I so overwhelmed by this that I have to stop myself for crying, she must be really ill, if not dead. Me and Felicity hug each other to try to calm each other down. We are both so overcome with emotion that we miss the bell, signalling the first lesson of the day has started. Right now, I really don't care if I'm late, I just want to see Lucy. Just as I'm pulling out of the hug, I see the door to the school slowly open. Whoever it is who is late obviously isn't in a rush. I watch in curiosity to see who it is, I really like making fun of people who are late. As I start to see the figure, I can tell something is off, I just don't know what though. Finally, they are in our full view and I'm in so much shock, of who it is and what has happened to them.
"Is that..." Felicity's voice trails off,
"Yes it is," I reply, really wishing that this hadn't have happened.
"What happened to her?" I hear Felicity say, but I'm not really paying attention and I can't answer her anyway, if I did, Felicity would think I'm a lunatic. As standing in front of use what the one and only, soon to become many, a zombie but not any old zombie. No. This is Lucy the Zombie...
