Chapter 3

I don't know how the zombies are here again. I was told that two hundred years ago that the first apocalypse happened. The vampires finally won by sending the leader of the zombie gang to the land of undead, he couldn't escape from there it was millions of miles away from our solar system, let alone Earth. He must have come back somehow, found a way to escape. I really can't believe it.
"What happened to her?" Felicity's voice snaps me out of the trance I'm in. Felicity. I need to protect her, I can't have both of my BFFs as zombies. I turn to her and put my hands on her shoulders, then say,
"Felicity, something very bad is happening. I can't tell you what but I need you to promise me something. I want you to say away from Lucy for the time being. I also want you to keep away from anyone else who is walking the same as Lucy, or looks as bedraggled as her. If it is possible, I would like you to try to keep everyone away. Can you do that for me?"
"I will try my best," Felicity replies, "but what about you?"
"I will be fine, I promise you," I try to convince myself this as I say it. Me and Felicity share a quick finally hug, then she goes off to hid from any zombie she encounters. I try to cherish the moment, knowing it could be the last time I see Felicity.

I'm trying to think straight but every thing is a blur, the last two hours have been hectic. As soon as Felicity had left I remembered my parents telling me to bring any zombies for them to look at I case they know what's happened or have a way to save them. So as quick as I could (which was quite slow, I wasn't thinking straight) I use my mind control to take zombie-Lucy to my house. As she was undead, I wasn't sure if mind control would work but thankfully, it did. It then took an hour to get back to my house, we had to walk as I don't know how to drive and even though I could probably figure it out, I didn't want to steal a car. The next hour was even worse than the first, even though I did get lost coming back home, I ended up taking us into the woods and almost scaring away all of the hunters, looking for game to kill - that's not something I want to experience again. By the time I have knocked on the door to my house, I had uncovered some facts about zombies. I found out that zombie-Lucy felt pain, I found this out when I wasn't paying attention and I made her walk in a lamppost, I didn't think zombies felt pain but the soft 'ow' that came from her lips proved me wrong. A soon as my dad opened the door, I quickly explained to my mum and dad what was happening. As first there expression was devastated, then shock and finally they got to trying to turn her back to normal. They took zombie-Lucy in, taking extreme care not to make her angry and attack, and put her on the table, ready for examination. I was really worried that she was going to die or be sent to a place worst than hell and hell is terrible as we went there for a party once (I know, who has a party in hell? The answer to that is Satan). The thing that shocked me most was what happened next. Zombie-Lucy suddenly done something that I knew impossible for zombies to do, even my parents were shocked when it happened. She spoke. What chilled me to the bone were her exact words,
"Wh....What's happening Alice? Don't you remember that it is Halloween?" Oh gosh, I've got a lot of explaining to do.
