I was seated on my bed with my legs crossed, packing my things I had into my only suitcase. I heard a knock on the dark brown withering door that led to the corridor and also belonged to my room. Shortly after my mum entered, she slowly limped over and placed her self down on my bed, the springs squeaked in protest from how old it was.

"You've nearly finished packing then-" she had barely finished speaking before I jumped in.

"I'm gonna miss you mum...but I know it's for the best" I tried to sound strong but my voice failed me and it came out in a tearful croak. She pulled me towards her and held me close, stroking my hair as tears rolled down my cheeks. It was going to be hard to not live with my mum and know whether she was safe. Deep down a fear still lived in me that he would come back and it made my soul quiver to think he could hurt us again. That was part of the reason I needed to go and live with my aunt, so I could start again and make a new beginning for myself.

I slowly released myself from the hug and tried to dismiss my thoughts of the past, I packed the rest of my belongings and checked I hadn't forgotten anything. This room held so many memories. And they weren't the best.

I arrived at my aunts house and it was massive, I felt like I was in a palace compared to what I was coming from.  Things were going to be so different now. Life in London wasn't anything like Manchester I knew that, my mum had drilled it into my head more than enough.

"You need to be careful Rougie, London is a dangerous place, it can be just as dangerous as anything you've experienced here in Manchester"

I could hear her voice in my head so clearly and it made me miss her even more, tears threatened to spill down my cheeks but I blinked them back and tried to stay positive.

You need this, this is your only chance to start again and move on.

My Aunty showed me to a room I would now call mine, it was beautiful, there was a double bed placed in the far corner of the room with fresh covers on it and it had smooth grey oak legs. Next to it stood a dressing table with drawers inside, for underwear I presumed. Almost next to the door was a door and I was curious to find out what was behind it, as if reading my mind my ain't gave me a nod and I walked over to the door and pulled it open, revealing a walk in wardrobe, with a few clothes and shoes in there already.

"They're yours" my Aunty said from behind me.

"I can't accept these, it's too much, they must have cost a fortune!" I blurted out in a protest.

She shook her head at me and I knew she wasn't going to listen to me. I thanked her and shortly after she left me to settle in, on my own. I sat down on the bed and it felt like heaven, it was nothing like my bed back at home, springy and uncomfortable. This bed was soft and bouncy it accepted my body and my body definitely accepted it. A thought sprung to my mind, what's going to happen tomorrow when I have to go to that school? I'm going to know no one there, what it they don't like me? They have many reasons not to. I hated the thought my mind gave out. I stared at the ceiling in disbelief only two months ago my life was the worst and now here I was.

Heyy guys, that's the first chapter, slightly short but the chapters will get longer as the story progresses... I hope you like the character of Rouge and the story line so far :)
