chapter three

**Alfie's POV**

"Hey Alfie!" I heard that same beautiful voice I always hear when talking to Zoe, an even more beautiful girl.

"Zoe! Hi! What's up?" I said, I'm usually not as nervous talking on the phone as I am taking to Zoe in real life.

"Do you remember how we have been trying to buy those One Direction tickets?"

"Yeah of course!"

"Well I was having coffee with Eleanor and-" I cut her off confused.

"Eleanor who?"

"Eleanor Calder..."  Why was Zoe with Eleanor Calder?

Zoe continued, " Alfie! She invited us to the One Direction concert tonight as her guests!"

"Oh my goodness Zoe! This is amazing!" I replied in shock.

"She said we don't have to but I think I might give her something for doing this for us! We even get to hang out with the boys afterwords!"

Thats how Zoe always is. Just looking for an excuse to return the favor. She is cute like that. Always wearing cute dresses and her vans. Her hairstyles she does that always confuses me. My feelings have been jumbling up since I met Zoe. One minute we are friends just laughing, ugh her laugh is adorable, and the next minute I catch myself staring at her from across the room! I don't know, she is

just so beautiful and I think I love her. Yes. I love her. I've known I've always had a thing for her but now I know by the end of the night, she needs to know how I feel.

I sat down at my computer and continued to edit my video for tomorrow. It was a '25 Facts About Me' video. It was quite easy to film actually. If only I could say my feelings to Zoe as easily as I can talk to my viewers. Like talking to a camera but of course, nothing is really that easy.

"Bye Alfie!" I heard Zoe say into the phone.

"B-bye Zoe." I stuttered back. What was wrong with me? I sounded way too nervous. "Alfie are you okay? You sound sick!"

"Yeah Zoe I'm fine." I tried to sound normal.

"Alfie, you're acting strange. I'm worried about you." Wait, she was worried about me? In what way? Does she feel the same?

Before I could jump to any other conclusions Zoe said "Your one of my best friends you know, you can tell me anything."

There it was, the f-word. No, no, no, not that f-word. I mean friend. Yep I just got "friend zoned" as Tyler (Oakley) probably would say. 

"Zoe I'm fine! Obviously better than ever! We are going to meet One Direction!" I said only half lying, I really am genuinely excited to meet and see them preform.

"Alright Zoe, I have to go. I'm editing my video for tomorrow!" She quickly answered back, "bye Alfie, see you the!" I hung up my phone. So how am I going to tell her?

**Zoe's POV**

"Bye Alfie, see you then!"I said into my phone.

I quickly hung up. Why was Alfie acting so strange? It's like he didn't want to talk to me. He is my best friend I don't want to lose him.

You know what! Calm down Zoe,he is probably just nervous about tonight. Yes! That's it. He's probably just nervous about meeting Eleanor and the lads. Since I was driving during that whole conversation (don't worry it was on speaker) I was already home.

"Joe I'm home!" I said figuring he was just taking on the couch "Mum! Dad!" I shouted anxious to tell what I was doing tonight.

"Zoe!" I heard Joe from in front of the television,"in here!" I walked into the room.

There was Joe and Alfie sitting on the couch watching television.

"Wow, Alfie. you got here quite fast didn't you!" I said surprised He arrived here before me.

He stood up from the couch and looked down at me (I'm obviously rather short) he stopped and stared for a moment and said," I didn't want to get stuck in traffic." His usual excited voice sounded weak. The reason for that, I have no clue. "I still have to get myself ready so.... I'll just be going up to my room then. " I left the room feeling Alfie's eyes trailing me as I walked.

**Alfie's POV**

She left the room quietly. "So" I heard Joe from beside me, "Are you two going on a date or something? "

"Ofcourse not!" I laughed nervously. It hurt to say we weren't going on a date.

"We are going to a One Direction concert. With Eleanor Calder actually. Meeting them afterwords as well." i said to the confused Joe.

For some reason he didnt know any of this so I told him how and why we were going. 

**Zoe's POV**

Finally six o'clock came, and Eleanor texted me.

Eleanor: Im right in front of your house!

I told Alfie and we both stood up, " I hope you two have a good time!" Joe said sercasticly, hewas obvoiusly jealous.

Walking down the path in my front garden I asked Alfie, " Are you excited? When you are on a phone call you cannot really see someones facial expressions." I was hoping to be able to understand why he was acting so different on the phone.

"Zoe, we are going to meet the 5 most talented lads ever! Of course besides me." he joked giving his hair a flip, even though his hair is not bouncy at all.

It must have all been in my head.
