Drew’s POV

It was 9:00 on a Friday night, and once again, I was home alone. This was the first time in a while that the guys and I had some time to ourselves. With all the shows and signings scheduled, we never really got to just sit down and chill. It took a lot of hard work, but we, as a team, finally convinced our manager to let us go back to California and chill out for 2 weeks as long as we promised to promote the album as much as possible. I hated doing that, I hated shoving our album in every fans face. If they wanted to buy it, they would, if not, then that’s fine too. I make music for those who want to listen, not for the money. I couldn’t care less about the money.

10:00, another hour passed by and I still couldn’t figure out what to do. I was lying on my bed, in the dark for the past 3 hours. I really wish I could have a special someone here with me, but with all the screaming fans I just never seemed to come across one, yet. Of course I’d be down to date a fan, if I ever got the chance to actually talk to them.. 15 more minutes passed by and that’s when I decided I needed to do something. I texted Wes to let him know what was up. After getting our manager to give us a break, I told Wes that I wanted to go to New York for the first week, just as a kind of stress-reliever. I love LA, but lately things had been so hectic out here when we would come back home, I just decided to visit NY for a while. I loved when we would have concerts over there. The fans are so sweet and it’s just a nice place to be. I packed a few things and bought a one-way ticket straight to New York for tomorrow morning.

The next morning I was up by 6:30, and decided to go to the airport, even though my plane was going to leave at 9 and I only lived 20 minutes away from the airport. Once I got the airport, I went through security and searched for my gate so I could go sit down. On the way there, I saw a tall brunette running down in my direction. I caught a quick glimpse of her before she passed my way, and I was in shock. I’d never seen such beauty in my life before. She looked about 5’6. She had long, dark brown hair, with pretty hazel eyes that I could get lost in. She was wearing a white t-shirt with a black leather jacket that stopped at her stomach; she had on ankle-high boots and leggings and a scarf. She ran so fast I couldn’t even get her name. When I turned around to see where she was going, she was gone. I continued to walk down to where my gate was and I tried to forget the girl, but she was all I thought about, even on the plane ride. I sat down in my seat, when a girl sat next to me. I turned to look at her to say hi, when she started screaming.

“Oh my god!!! You’re Drew Chadwick! I’m sitting next to Drew Chadwick!” She shouted. Everyone turned their heads towards us. I sighed and put my headphones on, my shades to cover my eyes, and I pulled my hood up. I love my fans, I really do, but sometimes the screaming and the shouting, especially when I’m trying to relax, just gets overwhelming for me. I fell asleep on the plane and all I could think of was her. The girl I saw in the airport. I needed her name, I needed her number. I needed her. I don’t know who she is, and I don’t think I’ll ever see her again, but a part of me felt like a new person. She gave off such a positive vibe, and within those 5 seconds of her presence I knew she would be stuck in my mind.. Finally I woke up and the plane was coming to a stop. The girl in the seat next to me was lying on my shoulder and I didn’t want to be rude and shake her off, so I gently grabbed her wrist and pulled it. She looked up and smiled.

“I’m Emily, nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you too, but I’ve got to go.” I said, trying to sound as sweet as possible. I grabbed my bag and ran off the plane. I stood in the airport and smiled. I was finally going to get my break. After going through security again and going outside, I called for a cab to take me to one of the hotels near Central Park. Once I checked in to the hotel, I went for a walk in the park to clear my head. It was nice, and the sun was shining bright. I saw a big tree near a rock, so I decided to go sit under it so I could read my book. It was nice just relaxing, reading, by myself, with no interruptions.. For now anyways.
