Ashlynn’s POV

I sat on my bed staring at myself in the mirror, and looking at the two pictures besides it; it was a picture of the meet and greet photos I have from last year. I couldn’t believe I just went on a date with Drew and confessed to him what my life was like; technically, he was still a stranger to me. I picked up my phone and wondered whether or not I should call him, I didn’t want him to be upset with me for just leaving him there at the park. I dialed his number and after waiting for a few seconds, I got an answer.

“Hi Ashlynn, you ditched me last night.” He sounded kind of hurt about it.

“I’m sorry.. I freaked out, it was just a lot for me, it doesn’t seem real, and I don’t feel like I deserve this feeling you have for me.”

“Stop trying to push me away, it won’t work. I want to meet up again. Want to come over?”

            “To your hotel?”

“Yeah, I’m feeling kind of under the weather this morning.. Could be from being outside all night.”

            “Sorry about that..”

“No it’s fine, just come over here and make it up to me.”

“I really hope that’s not some type of a sexual innuendo.”

“It could be if you want.”

            I didn’t reply.

“Ok, ok it’s not. Will you please come over? I won’t be in New York forever, so I want to spend as much time with you as I can.”

            I didn’t reply.

“Ashlynn come on, please. I’ll be here all day. The Rosemont Hotel, 245 Central Ave, it’s like a block away from Central Park. Room 24, first floor. Show up whenever. I’ll be waiting.”

And he hung up. No one has ever been this forward with me. It was practically 12pm so I decided I had nothing else to do, so why pass up an opportunity to see Drew.

I slid on a pair of yoga pants, some Nike slippers and some random shirt, I really wasn’t trying to impress anyone, apparently the one person I did want to impress, was already in love with me so I didn’t try very much. I left my nose ring in, I left my hair in the messy slop of a bun it was in, and I broke my glasses last night, so I put contacts in. I put on a small amount of blush and eye shadow and left. I got in a cab and it took about 20 minutes. I walked into the hotel and it was gorgeous, it intimidated me a bit. I asked the man at the desk where room 24 was and he asked me why.

“Who do you want to see?”

“Drew.. He’s a.. a friend.” He looked down at his computer and back at me.

“The rooms are that way.” He pointed to the right and I waved goodbye as I walked away.

I walked down the hall. 1,3,8,19.. Finally room 24. I knocked on it; I heard movement in the room then the door opened. He wasn’t wearing shirt, or shorts either, just underwear and to be honest, trying to keep my eyes on his face was the least of my problems.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me into a hug. My eyes rolled in the back of my head, he smelled so good, it was intoxicating. He stepped back and smiled.
