Sawyer's POV

I heard a knock on the apartment door and when I opened it up I was shocked. There was a boy who looked to be about 15 or 16 but his filth and zombie like stature made him appear older. He had red hair the exact same shade as Violet's. He didn't have a shirt. Only shorts. They were tattered. His hair was a tangled rats nest and he looked tired. Suddenly I heard Violet coming down the stairs and the boy gasped.

"Violet!" He ran towards her and I immediately stepped in front of him blocking her.

"Get away from her." I growled.

He flinched back frightened.

"Don't hurt me." He whimpered.

I looked into his eyes and was shocked to find Violet staring back at me. A male Violet.

She walked towards him and took his face in her hands.

"Who are you?" She asked slowly.

"Lysander Dimitri Grey." He hesitated. "Your brother."

"L?"

He nodded.

"L, where have you been, what happened to you?"

I was so confused. Suddenly he just started to cry without any warning. She began to cradle him as she cried too. They both looked so happy yet so pained all at once.

"Sawyer can you get him some clothes?" She asked me.

I quickly ran to my room and came back with sweatpants and a t-shirt. They were nowhere to be seen. All of a sudden I saw Violet walking out of the bathroom looking stunned.

"He's in the shower." She whispered.

I sat her down on the couch and looked at her.

"Explain."

She sighed.

"When I was seven years old, my little brother Lysander went missing He was six. My family and I agreed to never speak of him. We were to pretend like he didn't exist so it didn't hurt as bad. This wasn't until we gave up looking which was a year after he was gone. I guess he found his way home."

I ran a hand through my hair.

"You have a brother." I said.

"I do."

"You never told me."

"I did not."

"Why?"

"To be honest I had forgotten about him. It's been so long. I had pushed it out of my mind by now."

"Don't lie to me girl."

Violet's POV

His tone was frightening. Ice cold.

"I'm not lying Sawyer." I said as calmly as possible.

"You're not lying?! You couldn't even tell me you had some stupid goddamn brother who just decided to pop out of thin air?! How could you have missed that?!" He came closer and I started to get scared. I heard footsteps running away but then Sawyer started tickling me.

"I know you're not lying I'm just teasing you." He laughed. Once the tickling let up he got serious. "We need to talk to him. Ask him what happened. We have to call my mom." He said calmly.

I nodded.

All of a sudden I heard sobbing. Sawyer and I ran to the bathroom only to see Lysander sitting at the bottom of the shower with his clothes on and the water splashing down on him in a freezing cold temperature. Sawyer and I acted fast as he cut the water and I went to calm him down.

"Where's mama?" He cried.

"L... Mama isn't here anymore. Neither is papa." I said gently.

"Are they dead? Did Garth kill them?" He asked me.

"Lysander how do you know about Garth?" I asked shocked.

"He gave me this." He lifted his shirt only to reveal a long scar.

He started to shiver and he was freezing. I pulled him out of the tub and Sawyer started a warm bath for him while I talked to him.

"What happened to you?"

"I traveled off of the beach and into the woods where I met a man named Garth. He said that he was supposed to be my father and raised me. He said you were coming to visit with Mama and Papa but he threw me out first. He fed me and taught me reading but if he drank this smelly pop he would hit me sometimes. He threw me into a door once and I got this." He said poking the scar and giggling.

"Don't do that L." I warned.

Sawyer and I shared a glance at each other. We looked at L and then back at ourselves. The bath was finished so we left and let Lysander clean up. He came back out ten minutes later in a robe we had left for him but his hair was still gross.

"Why didn't you wash your hair buddy?"

"I didn't know how."

I sighed and Sawyer led him in there so he could show him what to do. Soon Sawyer walked out soaking wet with a pretty accomplished looking L following behind him.

"He went swimming. Splash splash!" He yelled.

"SPLASH SPLASH!!!" He screamed in Sawyer's ear.

"Splash Splash." Sawyer sighed.

I giggled.

Sawyer walked back into his room to get redressed while Lysander sat down in front of me on the floor. I joined him. Every time a car or motorcycle went by he would yell 'VROOM VROOM!!!"

It was obvious Garth didn't know how to raise a child. I constantly had to tell him not to pull my hair.

Sawyer had given him a white sweatshirt with black jeans. They fit him pretty well.

Once Sawyer came out of the bedroom he sat down with us. Lysander started to pull on Sawyer's hair as well.

"Hey hey, L don't do that. Stop." I told him. He stopped and started to pull on his own. Again I told him not to do that.

"I have autism!" He shouted out of the blue. I looked at Sawyer.

"What do you mean Lysander?" Sawyer asked.

"Mama said I have autism." He repeated.

"Actually Sawyer he does. I just want to let him him tell you."

He nodded.

"I'm sleepy!" L announced.

Sawyer brought him up to bed and then came back downstairs to me. He sat down.

"What now?"
