A light wind breezes over me as i watch the sunset.
It is gorgeous, but when i see the sunset it's usually from here, so it's not really special.
I hold onto a strand of my pale blonde hair, trying to reassure myself.
Yes i am here often, but that doesn't mean that i can't freak out that i will die everytime!
Looking below me i get reminded of how far up i am.
If you haven't guessed? I'm on top of the flagpole.
Yeah i know, ridiculously cliche. But my bullies aren't exactly the smartest.
Sighing and closing my eyes i look to see the last glimpse of the sunset.
I get disrupted though when a huge gust of wind comes. Screaming i hold onto the flagpole, squeezing my eyes shut.
"I knew i would find you here" A voice says. Looking down i see my favorite caretaker, Lesley Orbern, at the foot of the pole.
I huff out a sigh before replying "I seem to always be here"
After letting me down she drives me back to the orphanage, just in time for dinner.________________________
Lesley has been like a mother to me since my real one can't. I have met her before, but that was a long time ago.
After grabbing my food, Spaghetti bolognese, i walk to sit at the table at the back.
I don't have any friends here. I did when i was younger but they all got adopted. There aren't many orphans at the age of 16, they usually want little kids. I'm the oldest orphan here. The oldest one other than me is 14. And she probably is going to take after my footsteps.
After eating my food i quickly scurry off and into my room. After cleaning my teeth and getting changed i walk down the hall and onto the veranda which is looking out to the stars
"Please, oh please whoever is up there."I whisper "Please take me away from this place and let me be adopted. I want a real family. I don't even care if they are never home or if they hate me! Just please let me be adopted"
I finish off by wiping the stray tear and then run inside and duck under my covers, awaiting the next gruesome day.
