Seeing the light (discontinued )

Chapter 4

I was sitting on one of the seats near the front desk, the tan suitcase next to me.

Honestly i couldn't believe it. I was getting adopted.

Me.

Adopted!

It hadn't really sunk in yet.

I mean, why would anyone adopt a 16 year old girl? We're the worst! Ok that's a lie cause everyone knows that girls a way better.

But the point is why?!

It's not like anyone would want me anyway. They probably haven't looked at my file.

I'm interrupted by my thoughts when a young couple walks in.

The woman has gorgeous brown hair and crystal blue eyes and is short while the man is tall and has matching brown hair with brown eyes.

The man reminds me of someone but i can't think off the top of my head.

They both walk up to the counter, oblivious of my presence.

"Hi" the woman says in a sweet voice. It sounds just like a mothers, caring and sweet. "I'm here to pick up someone?"

"Ah yes" Tracey says "And who is it?"

"Peyton Newman" the man says, his voice deep and strong but with a kind tinge to it.

"Ah. Well she's right there" Tracey says pointing to me.

I awkwardly stand up while the man and woman look at me with adoration.

"Peyton, this is Mr and Mrs Lewis" Tracy says smiling

I smile holding out my hand "It's nice to meet you Mr and Mrs-"

I get interrupted by being pulled into a hug by Mrs Lewis "Oh don't be so formal" she lightly chuckles "Just call us Mum and Dad!" She then pulls out of the hug looking hesitant "Well, when your ready to at least. But i want you to know that we will both be here like the Mother and Father you deserve."

I smile warmly at that.

I think this just got a whole lot better.

The car ride there is pleasant and doesn't take to long. I spent that time with them getting to know me and me getting to know there family life.

"So do you have any kids?" I ask

"Oh yes" Mrs Lewis chuckles "We have a son and a daughter. She's 10 and He's 16."

"16?" I ask

"Yes 16. The same age as you" She smiles

"What school will i go to? And what school does he go to?"

"Marydale High. The same as his" She says.

I stare shocked at her "I-I go there"

Her smile widens if that's possible "That's great! That means you'll know your brother!"

"Who-Who is he?" She stammers

"His name is- oh we're here! You can see for yourslef!"

Mr and Mrs Lewis hop out of the car leaving Peyton there.

Slowly she takes a step out of the car with her back turned to the house when she hears a familiar voice.

"Is this my new sister?"

Then it all suddenly clicks.

The familiar face in Mr Lewis.

The last name Lewis itself.

She turned around to see Cameron Lewis himself.

Hi guys! Short chapter sorry!

Anyways from here on things will be happening. These chapters so far have been basically introducing the characters.

And i know there are a lot of characters (well not a lot but, you know. Not 5) but try and remember them all! They will all appear in this book more than once! So remember Nicole and Lesley from the last chapter. You don't have to remember Tracey. Maybe i don't know 😂😂
