'What the fuck?'
Not the greatest first thought to have of your new life, but it was his first thought all the same.
'First of all, where am I? Why am I here? And, WHO am I?'
The silver-haired boys' thoughts were interupted by is own hearbeat. Or, rather, his heartbeat monitor. It had spiked when he woke up, emitting a long, loud beep. A nurse came rushing in. "Oh, hello dear, you're awake. How do you feel?" asked the lady. She was an older woman, with snow white hair and lots of smile lines. "I don't know" the boy replyed. The nurse frowned slightly. At first he was afraid he said something wrong, but she looked more concered than angry. "Are you confused? Do you know where you are?" the lady asked.
By now he had figured that part out, so he answered. "I'm in the hospital. But why? What happened? I'm not in any pain." The nurse didn't seem satisfied. "That's good, dear. I'll be right back, I'm going to get the doctor for you. There's some water on the table there for you. I won't be a moment." The pale boy picked up the water and drank gratefully, his throat was so parched his voice was cracking.
True to her word, the nurse soon returned, this time with an even older doctor. They both had that concerned look on their faces. Immediatly, the doctor started asking questions. "Where are you? Do you know why? Can you move your fingers? Your toes? What is four times three?" The questions all seemed unrelated to the confused boy in the hospital bed, but he answered as best as he could.
Strangly enough, he found he could answer some on the mans' inquiries easily, while others he was struck dumb by. He knew perfectly well he was in the hospital, but had no idea why. He could move all his limbs and solve any math or logic question instantaneously, but he had no clue as to what his own name was. It terrified him, that no matter how hard he tried he couldn't come up with any sort of idea about himself or his past. After several minutes of testing for brain damage (at least that's what he guessed they were doing) the doctor seemed satisfied. Sad, but satisfied. Grimly, he looked the boy in the eyes and told him his diagnosis.
"Sugawara Koushi, you were involved in a hit-and-run accident. It appears that while you sustained no permanent physical injury, you are suffering from total amnesia. It is unclear whether or not your memories will return. For now, it's time to meet yourself." The nurse handed Sugawara a mirror, which he took hesitantly before gazing at his own reflection. He silver hair, pale skin, and lips that hinted at a kind smile. He had warm brown eyes that seemed happy and welcoming. He noticed a small beauty mark beneath his left eye. But mostly, he noticed the long, shallow scratch over his right cheek that extended to the bridge of his nose. It was shallow enough that it didn't hurt, but the bright pink stood out against his almost ghost- like skin.
"Suga....wara?"
