Chapter 8

I could feel my energy slowly draining even though I wasn't the one actually running but my wolf was.

"Do you have a name?" I asked her as I held tight to her brown fur. She grunted which I took as a no,and that she didn't particularly want one.

" can you explain how this works? I mean no one can see me right?" I pressed and she huffed at me

' can't you see I'm trying to run' she barked at me and I sighed

" I'm sure talking in my head doesn't effect your running ability" I snapped

' okay okay! Firstly only I can see you because we are a apart of each other, our souls are mashed together. Secondly it's not always like this, a lot of the time when I force a shift on you, when you are being threatened or when your being scared, you won't be standing next to me. Your human mind will just shut down and vanish so even I can't see you. When I feel it's safe to shift again I will shift and you will wake in your human body again.' She leaped over a fallen tree making me cling on tighter to her fur.

" so what you will just push me out when ever you want!" I huffed and she huffed back slightly dipping her head which I took as a yes.

" I don't want to find him" I whispered lightly and she growled deeply, I could feel it rumble through her back

' I really don't care! 'She snapped ' I have lived alone since you we're day's old! His wolf is mine and I am his you have no say!' I instantly became silent guilt trickling in my stomach. We ran in silence for what felt like forever, my energy was slowly sapping away and my grip on her lessened.

' I'm sorry I snapped' she whimpered slightly I tried to mumble a response but my eyes were closing slightly.

' merge with me and you won't be as tired'

"Merge?" I questioned lightly

' yes picture yourself and me as one. Your soul energy will merge with mine and you will be part of me for a while. ' I didn't really understand what she was talking about but I nodded my head as I rested it on her soft fur. Slowly I felt her fur become further and further away and I was looking down at my own paws, I was actually back in my wolf body, but I felt like I wasn't really there, I had no control over it , like I was just relaxing in a body that wasn't mine.

' you can sleep if you want?' My wolfs voice rung in my head... In our head since I was technically in her body.

' I will wake you up when I find him, it might take a while but I will find him.' I could feel the excitement buzz through her body.

" what if you take over and I can't get control back!?" I asked hesitantly and I heard a soft sigh coming from her muzzle.

' as much as I would love to have control, I have had my life and I'm here for you, to help you in yours. This isn't my body even the wolf belongs to you, I am simply a soul that occupies it. Now sleep before your energy becomes to low.' She growled softly and I let my eyes rest, trusting her to tell me when she found, him.

Growls echoed around my head and I suddenly became aware of my surroundings, I was in wolf form but not in control. 3 wolfs stood around me each projecting great power off of themselves.

" what is happening!?" I asked frantically

' get out and stand by the tree!' My wolf snarled as a grey wolf stepped towards her. And I did just that, I closed my eyes and within a second I was in my human body standing next to my gigantic wolf. Of course she was the only one who could see me from the normal world. I looked over at the grey wolf and noticed a fuzzy figure standing by his side.

" can't you see that?" I gasped pointing at the fuzzy figure. My wolf growled as the grey wolf leaped at her followed by another ash coloured wolf who left another fuzzy figure standing next to a large rock. Were they like me? Standing next to their wolfs? Maybe they could see me as well?

' they can't my wolf barked in between snapping at the ash furred wolf and the grey one, each wolf was twice her size and weren't afraid to use their sizes as an advantage. The ash furred wolf snapped at my wolfs hind leg taking a large chunk out of it as she spun around and racked her claws across his pelt. He yelped and jumped back before circling my wolf along with the grey one who was snapping at my wolf then pulling away again. The 3rd wolf was a reddish colour and had snuck up behind my wolf, before I could yell a warning he had sprung onto her back pinning her to the floor. He racked his back legs across her stomach before both of the other wolfs joined in, snipping and biting at my wolf.

" NO!" I screeched running towards them "STOP!" I didn't know how I could actually help but I had to try. I was so close to them before the ground started to shake and a roar echoed all around me making my ears ring. The three wolfs looked up from tearing my wolf apart and looked straight behind me. Terror light their faces like Christmas light . I turned around following there eyes as the rumbling still hung in the air. A chill of terror ran down my spine as I couldn't believe my eyes.
