The Result of Chaos

Police Interview 7:46 AM

"I was right there and I could've done something.." Matt starts.

Matt looks up at the officer.

"I tried to do something! I wasn't good enough.." Matt finishes.

"Wasn't good enough?" The officer asks.

Matt sighs.

"I couldn't save Emily!" Matt yells.

He closes his eyes.

"Emily? Emily survived.." The officer says calmly.

Matt opens his eyes.

"What? Where is she?!" Matt yells concerned.

Police Station 7:50 AM

Matt runs out of the room after the police interview.

He sees Emily talking to Sam.

"Emily!" Matt yells to Emily.

Emily sees Matt.

Matt runs up to Emily and hugs her.

"Thank god you're okay.." Matt whispers to Emily.

"I'm fine.." Emily whispers back.

Matt lets go of Emily.

He sees she's bleeding out of her leg.

"Em, are you okay?" Matt asks concerned.

"Yeah, I was just about to go to the hospital to get it bandaged" Emily starts.

"Let's go then" Matt says calmly.

Hospital 8:24 AM

Matt is waiting for Emily in the waiting room when he suddenly sees Jessica through one of the patient room windows.

He stands up and starts walking to the door.

He knocks on it.

"Hello? Who's there?" Jessica asks on the other side of the door.

"It's Matt" Matt responds.

"Oh.. come in" Jessica says as loudly as she can.

Matt opens the door and walks inside.

He closes it behind himself.

"Hey Jess.." Matt says calmly.

He sits down on the chair next to the bed.

"Hi.." Jessica responds with a sad tone.

"Are- are you okay?" Matt asks quietly.

Jessica starts tearing up.

Emily's House 9:47 AM

Matt is holding Emily in his arms.

"Do you feel better?" Matt asks Emily calmly.

"Yeah.. sorry for freaking out" Emily whispers.

Matt sighs.

"I get it, Em.. you had to run from that thing.. all alone in a mine shaft" Matt reassures her.

"I'm so selfish.. Jessica got cut up by that thing and had to run from it" Emily says with a sigh.

"But she wasn't alone.. I was with her-" Matt starts.

"Matt.. she got cut up! Her whole body was filled with scars! A rock fell on my leg, that's all that happened to me!" Emily yells.

"I know, Em.. I know.." Matt whispers to her.

Matt raps his hands around Emily and closes his own eyes.
