Odysseus and his men return to Circe's island. While the men sleep, Circe takes Odysseus aside to hear about the underworld and to offer advice.

While talking abroad, they hear the Sirens. Crying beauty to bewitch men coasting by. He will not see his wife nor his children in joy. The Sirens will sing his mind away on their sweet meadow lolling. There are dead carcases rolling in the valleys. Odysseus starts to observe that he might not have enough men to journey with him to save his beloved wife. He might have to do it by himself.
