Twenty minutes later they were trekking through the woods with twelve other delinquents. Jamie walked directly behind Bellamy, eyes taking in their surroundings. They had decided to remain close to camp considering the added danger from the grounders and Jamie had long decided that she wouldn't ever be taken hostage again. The only animals they were able to find however were small birds that wouldn't even properly feed one person.

Jamie's eyes flickered around curiously wondering why the woods were so silent. She listened closely for any changes around them, thankful everyone in their hunting party knew how to walk quietly. Her eyes scanned the ground and she froze when she saw a broken arrowhead. "Bell?" She whispered, her hand grabbing the back of his coat to stop him. He stopped immediately and flipped towards her with an arched eyebrow and she held up the arrowhead in reply.

"Grounders?"

She nodded to him then something caught her eye right over his shoulder. She didn't hesitate to push him to the ground, covering his body with her own, as an arrow flew through the air right where Bellamy was just standing. His eyes widened and he quickly rolled them over so she lay beneath him with her hands pressed up against his chest. He leaned on his elbows to keep his weight mostly off of her while he looked around for the source of the arrow. Her breath caught in her throat as she realized she just saved him, that she could have lost him.

Her hands gripped his coat while her eyes scanned the area, stopping on a tree with the camouflaged grounder. She inhaled a sharp breath before pulling Bellamy closer to her. His eyes drifted down to hers and she subtly tried to gesture to the tree. As he stared down at her his warm breath hit her face and made her heart speed up. Her hands still gripped his coat tightly as her eyes studied his chocolate colored ones. She could see the panic and fear in his gaze but there was also something else...She didn't have time to think about what else she saw in his gaze as more arrows rained down on them.

"We have to go." She said, crawling out from under Bellamy. She grabbed his hand and pulled him with her and they grabbed the others along the way. It was only a matter of minutes before the group was running back to camp. Jamie and Bellamy hung back a little bit to make sure everyone else made it back safely. Both kept their eyes focused on the trail in front of them while they listened intently to the silent woods they left behind.

When they got back to camp it was nearly dark and the party celebrating Unity Day was in full swing.

Clarke greeted them at the gate when they ran in with a grim smile. Neither mentioned the grounders and were finally feeling a bit relaxed once they were back inside the gate although they did come back empty handed.

"Hey, the comms are still dead. They haven't been up since the pageant." Clarke told them, glancing from one to the next.

"Best Unity Day ever." Bellamy replied with a grin.

Jamie snorted and shook her head lightly, lacing her fingers together nervously.

Clarke ignored his remark as she continued. "Do you really think now is a good time to be having a party? I mean, the grounder is still out there."

"Grounders." Jamie replied.

Bellamy nodded in agreement before adding, "by now he's made it home. He's probably putting together a lynch mob." He glanced behind them at the walls surrounding the place before returning his attention to Clarke. "Relax. I'll get security covered." He turned to Jamie then with a smile. "Why don't you guys go get a drink? You both look like you could use one."

Clarke laughed nervously and looped her arm through Jamie's. "I could use more than one."

"Then have more than one. The Exodus ship carrying your mother comes down here in a few days and after that the party's over. Have some fun while you still can. You both deserve it." He smiled at them and nodded towards the party.
