JENNIFER'S POV
"Hey Mrs. Bolten!" I said jumping up from my bunk
Mrs. Bolten is the founder of Winter Hills Home for girls. She is the kindest old woman you will ever meet! She is about 5'5 and has short, curly grey hair. She has beautiful hazel orbs that you can see light up a mile away. She is the most caring person I think in the whole world, but she says she's just doing her job!
"Good morning, Jenny dear!" she said in her sweet tone almost to nice
"What's for breakfast?"
"Eggs and bacon!"
"Mmm! I'll be right down!"
"Great... After you eat, Meet me in my office!"
*30 Minutes later
I sat down in the chair of Mrs. Bolten's office and listened to what she had to tell me. I have a feeling I'm in trouble... again.
"So Jennifer... I have some good news, there is a young couple that moved into town a few months ago but sadly can't have any children, they came to to orphanage to pick out a child... and well..."
"THEY CHOSE ME? But I thought young couples wanted babies? Why do they want me? I'm almost 18!"
"They said they fell in love will you from the moment they saw your picture! They will be here around 3 to come pick you up! better go pack your things!"
My mind was racing! who were these people... what were their names? Do they have more adopted children? so many questions swirled through my brain as I walked the stairs up to my room... or used to be.
I packed up some photos and my clothes... I didn't own much... so packing was easy. I took a quick glance at the clock:
11:30 A.M.
That gives me enough time to go on a walk around the orphanage and neighborhood surrounding before my surprise adopters come.
I walked out the front doors and a chill swift breeze swept over my entire body. It was the beginning of Autumn, my favorite season! I walked down the side walk, a crunch of leaves in every step. I kept walking and walking, It felt like hours, until I came to and old tree... scratch that. MY old tree.
Me and this tree are best-friends... Like ever since I was 15 That's... 1..2... Almost 3 years this tree has been here for me! I looked at it for a minute and turned around, walking back to the orphanage thinking about the memories I've had around here...
I came back up to the buildings doors and walked in.I looked at the clock in Mrs. Bolten's office. It read about 3:15. Only 15 more minutes I have to soak in everything before they come. I ran up to my room and grabbed my box of precious belongings, and carefully made my way down the stairs. Mrs. Bolten was calling my name. I walked into her office and saw a very handsome young man and a beautiful young woman. The man turned around and said
"Hello, I'm George Wood, you must be Jennifer, I'm your new father"
