After sending Alfred to bed later that night, England turned back to the two Italians who had been waiting for answers. It was Romano who spoke up first, being as he wasn't as afraid of England as his brother was.

"Okay, what's going on!? Was that really America we saw in the hall!? WHY ARE THERE TWO OF THEM!?"

Hushing him with a glare, England mentioned for them to fallow him.

"If we're going to discuss this, we can't do it so close to Alfred's room...."

As they walked back upstairs to his study, Italy asked in a quiet voice.

"What was that earlier? How was Mr. America able to change the way he looked and his voice... why did he fade like Grandpa Rome?"

Sighing England sat down, rubbing his temples as he started to try and explain.

"It seems that the spell we preformed to save America had a few side effects Norway can't explain, one being Alfred turing back to his colony age and mindset. The other clearly being that the man he used to be was actually removed from his body instead of de-ageing like we originally thought. America told me that unless we except this younger America as the new America before a memory triggered, we would be back to square one. Our America would return, but exactly the way he when he... anyway. According to the older America he wants to fade for good and give the younger a chance to be the new America."

The Italy brothers both blinked slowly, trying to get their heads around this rather confusing explanation. It was Romano who spoke first.

"So... America, the older one, wants to fade so that Alfred can be the new America? Why? Wouldn't be easier if we simply triggered a memory and return him to normal with the memories of these past few days in tact? Shouldn't that fix everything?"

England shook his head, gaze clouded over.

"I don't think so, he doesn't want to wake up... at least that what he told me earlier. He wants to fade, to stop existing all together. He was serious as well, if calling me big brother again proves anything..."

Romano gave a tired sigh, rubbing his temple with one hand before glancing over at Italy. His brothers amber eyes were visible...

"We'll just have to wait and see then."

Both England and Romano gave Italy a surprised look, but he only smiled eyes returning to their normal look.

"It's not truly up to us, America has the right to choose his own fate... as his friends we should give him that freedom to decide what he wants."

Turning tilting his head to the side Italy said in an oddly serious voice.

"After all, we should understand how it feels to have your life decided for you."

Romanos' mind flashed to his earliest years, everything he lost because of what he was...

"So... we'll be visiting Alfred again tomorrow. We promised the kid we'd teach him more about our country... so get used to us being around."

Romano stated in a dull tone, eyes narrowed to a half glare at England who stared in shock at the Italians as the brothers left.
