Today was one of those days when they were just happy to be there. Mathew and Julie went on every ride there was but saved the best for last. The Spinner! Now most people know this as the merry-go-round, however, the children in this quaint neighborhood knew it as the Spinner. Why is this? Because it was the best thing at the park. The children had competitions everyday to see who could stay on the longest. Each day Julie and Mathew won. However, on this particular day, Mathew won. Julie had gone flying off of the Spinner, landing on her knee. Immediately Mathew jumped off and went to help her. "Are you ok?" he asked. "Yeah i'm okay" she replied. "My knee hurts though". Mathew got up to go get an adult, but as soon as he stood up, the handle from the spinner hit him and knocked him over. Limping, Julie got over to Mathew and helped him up. 'Why isn't anyone else helping us?' she wondered. The rest of the children had gone back to playing, acting as if nothing had ever happened and so did Mathew. 'Well that's strange' she thought. It was as if the children hadn't even noticed.
