Hmmm. I do not see where I am going with this rant. Oh well.....
*cue intro*
Hi! My name is Helen, and I am a sometimes bitchy, sometimes overwhelmingly nice person! I'm pretty opinionated, and tend to think of myself as above others when I'm really not. I'd find some cool word to describe that like Rick Riordan did with Annabeth and hubris but I'm too lazy to do it. Candor's a nice word too, but I often sugarcoat things to my own advantage. Also I am overthinking this. Overestimate me if you will!
This first rant is on the subject of ranting.
*cue ranting*
Even when I, a weathered and now-tiring-of-Wattpad Wattpadder, first came on here (through THG fanfics, ironically - i don't really like fanfics now), I always was on here for reading stories. I repeat, reading stories. Not reading rant books, not reading random stuff that Wattpad isn't supposed to be used for (like posting one line chapters to ask their readers what to eat for breakfast), reading stories. Even fan fiction would work because those are stories.
If you want to share your diary and rant on life, start a blog. Blogging is a lot of work to get dedicated readers, but chances are, unless you're self-absorbed, you don't really want a lot of strangers to comment and do what they will with your online diary.
Now for the explanation of my hypocrisy (well if that can ever be explained and forgiven - hypocrisy is pretty bad):
1. I am ok with being a hypocrite. You shouldn't be ok with it, but I am. I'm special. (JK, but really. Don't be ok with it. It's bad for you.)
2. I feel like this rant book might actually be ranting, not just complaining about bitchy people (well I might do this sometimes) or boys or stupid stuff (well you can be the judge of that). It will redeem itself! If you're going to rant, at least RANT. Don't just complain - no one really wants to read that unless it's entertaining (ahem ahem MARCIE).
3. It's not the ranting I have a problem with. It's how short it is. (I have issues ok?) Ultimately, that leads to my other problem with shortness: IT'S NOT IN EVEN F¨CKING STORY FORMAT. WHICH IS WHAT WATTPAD IS FOR. (I have a thing about sticking to story format, ok?)
Honestly, I really do recommend starting a blog. There, you have more control over what format you want to rant in. I would totally start a ranting blog if I was that kind of person! Instead, I am a bookish person so I have a book blog (it's kind of private, so PM me for details - tbh, you would not believe how much coding and observations I've learned on my own just from this blogging experience; GAH IT'S EXHAUSTING).
Anyway, I feel very strongly about books. I wouldn't even classify myself as a fangirl anymore so much as a person who feels very strongly about books. A PWFVSAB. That, my friends, is why I have such a thing for sticking to long, "story" format (instead of say, quote books (bane of my existence)) - I feel very strongly about books.
That is why I joined Wattpad. That feeling of bookishness is why. I wanted to connect with fellow readers and writers, I wanted to read free, quality writing (well look where that went) and have the feeling that I found a great book and can personally connect with the fabulous writer, etc.
Well, generally making something like Wattpad (e.g. Youtube) public and popular MEANS that people are going to misuse it and take advantage. That is why I liked it when there were only a million or so people on here - the SEASONED Wattpadders who found this website out of a common love for reading and connecting.
And this is why we can't have nice things. 😓

My Rants
RandomMy rants - because all my friends have started rants and honestly no offense but they're not rants. They're just short complaints. (I doubt that mine will be different but whatever. ;) Definition: *rant* /rant/ verb. 1. to speak or shout AT LENGTH...
