It's been hours since Kyrie fell asleep. Amelie had gone along with the rest of the doctors. One was even gracious enough to wrap Miles's hand before he left. With all this time to himself, Miles was able to think. Amelie had really put something on his mind with regards to Kyrie. Comforting her through this tough time is really all he could do. When Amelie told Kyrie the news, she wasn't suprised. It was almost like she knew.It explains a lot.
What Miles failed to understand was why she was so concerned about the health of the fetus if she didn't have plans to keep it anyway. He sat as still as he could and waited for to awake. He'd made dinner for them both, and drew her a bath- which was probably ice cold right now. Nevertheless, he just wanted her to awake.
With perfect timing, Kyrie stirs softly in her sleep causing Miles to jump instinctually. He simply couldn't bare the silence any longer.
"Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes." Miles whispers sincerely.
In return, Miles receives a light grin followed by a very deep yawn and suddenly his heart skips a beat. Suddenly, he could imagine her waking up the exact same way exactly 7 months from now-ready to pop. The thought caused him to look down, smiling with bashful eyes.
Oh no.
Kyrie knew that face and honestly it made her feel uncomfortable. How could she hurt somebody so undeserving of it? Yeah he messed up, but the look of happiness on his face just made Kyrie feel so guilty about wanting to abort it.
What makes it worse is that she knows he'd love this child unconditionally, because just like him-she knows the feeling of having it all and nobody to share it with. Kyrie knows the feeling of not having anybody to love you just because of who you are. Miles has been the only one to make her feel like she belongs. How could she repay him with anything other than love and appreciation?
"How's your hand?" Kyrie's huffs, stretching the remainder of drowsiness from her body. She figures that changing the subject is the only thing that could possibly save her from the dreaded 'look'.
Miles's face grows sad and cold as his eyes fall to the bandage wrapped arm. He simply didn't want to think about it. It was a reminder of the control he lost and he never wanted Kyrie to see him that way ever again. He brings his hand to his face trying his best to flex the broken fingers, failing miserably.
"It's just a fracture..." Miles frowns, sliding it back to his side. He didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Especially not when Kyrie is the one needing the upmost undivided attention.
"Oh." Kyrie responds.
Silence fills the room like thick fog, with awkwardness following shortly after. Kyrie looks down at her hands, picking invisible dirt from underneath. She does her best to avoid all eye contact with Miles who seems to be looking everywhere else but her direction. It isn't until Miles breaks the silence that things start to look up.
"Soooo...I know it's still a very..."
"Sensitive." Kyrie finishes.
"...Sensitive topic, but it's not like we can simply avoid it. Now let's just talk like adul-"
"Im not sure what I want anymore!" Kyrie interrupts, her lips trembling with sadness. Where does she go from here? Where does she even start? She can feel the tears pricking the corners of her eyes. What in the fuck is she going to do?!
Miles could do nothing but stare into her eyes, leaping forward to hold her into his arms. He could sense the sadness, the misery of being conflicted. The most important thing right now is not if she's going to keep the baby, but how are they going to get through this. It is very simple. Whatever side that Kyrie is on is where Miles wants to be. No matter what.
"Baby, please don't cry. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere, nor will I judge the decision you make. We will get through this together so please don't worry yourself."
Kyrie bursts into tears, feeling even more disappointed in herself. She could never hurt him. Especially not like this.
