Sapphire in pic
Sapphire's POV (a couple of weeks later)
When I woke up that morning all I remembered was that I had to survive yet another day of hell, I mean school . Since Asher goes to a different school, we just texted each other any time we could. We've started to get close and just joked around with each other a lot. When my friend, Violet, noticed I had been smiling at my phone she started getting suspicious. I normally never smile at my phone unless it shows a picture of a puppy or something.
"So who's the guy? Is the experiment actually working now?? It's about time. You broke out of your shell" She says excitedly, and quickly might i add, while trying to sneak glances at mine and Asher's texts.
"His name is Asher. And no the experiment isn't working, we're just friends. He's supposed to be a 'future boyfriend' but I don't feel that way about him. He's more of a brother to me than anything." I say with a shrug. The bell rings, signaling the end of the period, and also time for lunch.I go to the cafeteria and meet up with my usual posse, or bitch squad, because we're all some fine ass bitches. Nah, I'm kidding. But this happened every day since the second week of school. We found each other and we sat in random seats we wanted to sit in, until we made it silently known that if someone tried to move into someone else's seat, they will get kicked out. And surprisingly, no one sat in our usual spot. Ever. Like we silently established that they were our tables.
I only have a few close friends but that's all I need. I don't need some fake friends that will most likely use me and manipulate me to do stuff.Even though there was only about five or six of us, we were like family. I'm actually quite scared about what will happen when we all graduate in a couple of years. As usual, I was always the first one there so I got my lunch first and sat down while Violet, Lanie, Beth, Angel, and Ruby quickly put down their stuff, said hi, and went to the lunch line.
"Hey babe" Violet says as she sits down.
"Hey you guys." I say as everyone else sits down and starts eating. It was silent for a little while until Violet decides to bring up Asher.
"WHO?!" Everyone practically yelled. Everyone around us started staring at us like we were the Hydra from Greek mythology.
" He's just a new guy that I was assigned to and we ended up becoming pretty good friends.." I mumble, hoping no one really heard me.
The next thing I know one of the popular guys, Jake, strutted over trying to look all high and mighty came over to our table and put his hand on my shoulder.
"Hello ladies, how are you this fine afternoon?"
"Quit the bullshit Jake. What do you want."
"I was actually going to ask you something Sapphire. Will you go to the dance with me?" He said, sort of smirking and looking back at his friends while waiting for an answer. I already know that all of the guys at this school marked me as the grand prize at this school. If a guy can get a date with me or screw me, they are instantly popular. So far, all of the guys that have tried, failed. Because no guy at this school is worth my time.
"Okay Jake"i take a pause just to get his hopes up.i know, I'm horrible.
"There are many things wrong with that. One, I don't like you and I never will. Two,I already know that you and your posse of jocks bet on me to see who could fuck me first. And three, I have better things to do than to waste my time at a stupid dance.Like performing. Now run along and go tell your pimps how much of a bitch I am and how you just got rejected." I say as I roll my eyes and go back to talking with my friends, secretly telling Angel to look at his reaction. They way she decried it, his face was priceless. At first, it was a smirk, then his eyes widened, and then he started turning red from either embarrassment or fury. Either way, it was hilarious. We have a system in our group and everyone has a forte. Angel has a brutal honesty and she will tell you off if you offend any of her friends, Beth is the fierce and wild chick who isn't afraid to beat someone's ass if they double cross her. Violet is the flirt of the group, she'll flirt with any cute guy that comes along, unless they have a girlfriend. Lanie is the sassy one. She'll be quick to shut down any insult or remark you could possibly say about her or about any of us. Ruby is the social one out of our group. She'd talk to anyone and everyone, sure she could be considered popular but she doesn't think of herself as popular. And I'm the Bitchiest out of everyone. I'll reject anyone, and I won't care who it is or how popular they are. If a popular chick decides she wants to mess with me, she'd lose. We all have out strengths and weaknesses, which is why we are the known, but also unknown power group of the school. The teachers don't know about us but the students do and they know that if they mess with one of us, they mess with all of us.

The last bell rings signaling the end of the day, so I quickly go to where the black car is waiting for me, as usual. Rob has been my driver since the beginning so he knows that after I get out of school, I'll be pissed, so he always buys a McDonalds oreo McFlurry so that I won't be in such a bad mood when I get back to the establishment. But today was different. Sure, there was still the drink, but we weren't going back "home". We were headed somewhere else. And there was a different driver.
