Michael's POV

I couldn't help but chuckle, Marlene really is one feisty thing. I also couldn't help but glance at her a few times. In my opinion she's intriguing. Why do they dub her as the biggest streetwalker of LA? Why does she have these dreams? Does she like me? All these questions pierce into my head while gaping through the diner's window.

"Michael!?" Marlene calls giggling.

My head shoots towards her direction with a grin plastered on my face. "What?" I ask grinning larger.

"You were like zoned out for a minute," She leans in closely. "What were you thinking about mister?" She raises a brow indicating to brief her.

"It's nothing, girl." I assure her quickly before placing my hand upon hers. She closes her eyes and nods softly.

"Just making sure Michael." She says giving me a small smile. Taking another look out the window I couldn't help but see my reflection causing my eyes to widen. Hearing an audible giggle I turn my head and glance at Marlene once again.

"You look fine Michael," She compliments glancing back at me. "Very fine." She unawarely adds. Raising a brow at her a chuckle escapes my lips causing her cheeks to redden. "Sheesh yeah... no wonder why you were googling at me earlier." I jest grinning mischievously. Her brown orbs widen for a moment and then roll in tease.

"Shut up! That's never going to happen again!" She murmurs trying to suppress her laughs. "Sureee." I snicker retreating my hand and pairing it with my other simply folding them. Swiftly Marlene leans back into the booth and smiles.

"Are you going to work today?" I ask her curiously still interested. "Yes sadly," She sighs for a moment but smiles before adding "Are you coming tonight?"

I gave her a crooked smile in hope. "I don't know maybe," I reply.

"Why?" I add quickly.

"Oh... no reason, just curious. I mean you did leave early last time. Aren't cha' gonna make up for it?" She smirks playfully leaning forward against the table. Her elbow pressed onto the surface with her head leaning on the palm of her hand. She lightly began tracing circles on the counter with her index finger.

Now it was her turn to play.

Parting my lips I couldn't help but inhale a gasp of air followed by a deep chuckle. "I am making up for it! I took you out and we're here aren't we?" I respond kittenishly while wiggling my eyebrows. She lets out a small giggle, "Yeah well, it doesn't matt—"

"Here are your drinks." Maya interrupted placing our drinks in front of us. "Enjoy, your food will be coming shortly." Maya forced a fake smile, which Marlene gladly returned. As soon as Maya retreats Marlene rolls her brown orbs. "Anyway like I was saying, it doesn't matter." She continued causing us to both laugh.

As soon as her laugh died down, she suddenly began to gawk at me. A stupid look shown on her precious face. Utterly lost and confused I gave her a frown. I got a bit tense, why is she staring at me like that? "What's up? You okay?" I tensely ask her. Snapping back into reality, she quickly blinks a couple times before nodding her head. "Oh, I was a little worried for yo—"

"You know, you're really great company Michael." She says cutting me off.
