Hello everyone, I'm so sorry for not updating. I've had the worst writer's block and just started esthetics school. And I work full time, so I've been super busy. But I got COVID, and I'm taking the week off work, so hopefully, I'll get a chapter or three done. I currently have COVID while writing this, so I apologize in advance.

This one will be super short, but I'll update again soon! I promise! (This will be the only chapter for the rest of the book that will be less than 3,000 words.)

Enjoy <3

"You're going to kill him?"

Ashton's response was swift, a silencing finger pressed gently against her lips. His voice carried a calm urgency. "No one can know Cane said that." Ashton looked over at Cane with a look of disbelief.

Bianca's eyes darted back and forth between Ashton and Cane, detecting an unmistakable undercurrent of tension permeating the room. She leaned in, her curiosity gnawing at her as she disliked the palpable shift in the atmosphere.

"Why?" she inquired.

Cane sighed. "Well, the king is supposed to oversee the trial, and he must refrain from making any decisions until the official trial day, and since my father ordered me to oversee the trial, I'm not supposed to make a decision, but..." A meaningful exchange of glances passed between Ashton and Cane, "It's not every day that we encounter a crime of this magnitude. Typically, trials address territorial disputes or feral wolf attacks," Cane elucidated.

Bianca's eyes remained glued to the interplay between Ashton and Cane, tension intensifying with every word.

"I think anyone in your position would undoubtedly think that man deserves to die." Bianca voiced. Her voice was steady and cold.

"Yes, but he's not supposed to voice it." Ashton pointed it out once more. His tone carried a hint of annoyance. "The lead investigator, which in this case was me, maintains a report to share with the King, or in this case, Cane. This provides prior insight into the case before the trial commences. But Cane has to wait until the official trial date to decide. After he hears Varian's defense."

Cane scoffed; his mind was already made.

"He gets to defend himself?" Bianca asked, horrified. It didn't make sense to her why he would still have a chance to defend himself and his actions.

"Don't worry." Cane pulled her close to his side. "It's just a formality."

Bianca nodded. Her head was starting to become heavy. She had witnessed Varian's brutality firsthand. His deranged laugh began to echo in her head, and the sight of the tortured woman in the dungeon flooded her mind, and from deep within, a fire ignited within her.

"I want to be there," she declared, her voice unwavering.

Cane's eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't expected her to make such a bold decision, especially after everything she had been through."Bianca," he began, his concern evident, "are you sure? You don't have to do this."

Bianca shook her head, her gaze unwavering. "I need to," she said, her voice steady. "I need to do this, not just for myself, but for all the she-wolves who suffered because of him. I want him to see that he didn't break me, that he didn't win, and all those she-wolves will be remembered and honored, and she will be reduced to Nothing." Her wolf growled deep within her, anger and determination flowing in her veins.

Cane couldn't help but admire her courage. She had faced unimaginable horrors and was now willing to confront her tormentor in court. He reached out and gently squeezed her hand, offering his support.

Ashton was also surprised at Bianca's decision, and he admired it. Only he and a few wolves had first seen what had happened in that dungeon. Fate had been on their side; the day Bianca awoke, they rescued her, andong, with other warriors, had the daunting task of watching countless hours of footage recovered from the dungeon. It'd been haunting him for numerous nights. But he was glad his future Luna hadn't experienced what the others had. Nonetheless, he knew it was still traumatic for her, and still, despite that, she wanted to be at the trial. To be the voice for the she-wolves who had been murdered, he admired that. It reminded him of someone he'd known who always put others ahead. Cane.

"What are you smiling at?" Bianca's voice pulled Ashton from his thoughts. He hadn't even noticed his lips tugging back into a smile.

He shook his head, "Nothing. Just find it funny how perfect you are for one another." He shrugged and began walking towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Cane asked

"To call my Emiline," Ashton shouted back in response.

And then there were two.

Bianca's heart raced as Ashton's playful comment about her and Cane being the perfect match made her smile sheepishly. Her cheeks flushed, and she couldn't help but quickly glance at Cane, who now sat beside her. Their eyes locked in a magnetic connection as if the world around them faded into obscurity. Bianca's body seemed to move on its own without uttering a single word as she slowly rose from her seat, her fingers trembling with anticipation. Her hands gently cupped Cane's chiseled face, her touch sending a surge of electricity through her veins.

Cane was caught off guard by the sudden, yet irresistible, advance but wasted no time responding. Their lips collided with a palpable intensity, a collision of longing and desire that had been building for far too long. Their mouths melded together in a fervent embrace, tongues dancing in a passionate tango of reunion.

When their lips finally parted, Bianca's voice trembled with emotion. "I missed you so much," she confessed, her voice laced with a hint of vulnerability. Her fingers traced the contours of Cane's strong jawline as she held him close.

"I missed you more," Cane replied, his voice husky with desire. He lifted her off the ground effortlessly, their lips locking again in a fiery kiss that threatened to consume them both.

As their bodies pressed close, their undeniable chemistry ignited a cascade of sensations. April, Bianca's inner wolf, playfully teased her with lustful thoughts, causing her cheeks to flush with warmth. That warmth spread through her entire body as Cane's lips left her mouth and began a tantalizing journey down to her neck. His hot and heavy breath sent shivers down her spine as he inhaled her scent, allowing it to envelop his senses.

But it wasn't just April's primal desires at play. Luca, Cane's wolf, was equally eager to claim his mate right then and there. The raw, primal instincts surged within him, but Cane's strength of character held those impulses at bay, allowing him to cherish this moment rather than succumbing to pure instinct.

When they finally pulled away from each other, their chests heaving and their lips swollen, shy yet affectionate smiles painted on both their faces. It was a moment of vulnerability and deep connection that words couldn't quite capture.

Bianca's eyes sparkled with excitement as she managed to regain some composure. "Why don't I help you get settled in our room? All your things have been organized for you," Cane suggested, voice tinged with anticipation.
